I'm rarely wrong.

Is this a slow news day here at haineshisway.com?

I can see that it's a slow day of writing - in a new section now.  The last new section took me a day or two to get used to, so it looks like it will be the same with this.  Once I get used to it it will go faster and easier.

WFO I wrote Jon and passed the message on to Flip.  Thank you.

Ron, they can’t test for everything.  You must be allergic to something, or there is some other medical problem the doctor simply can’t determine.

Ozderek-beautiful photo.  I would gladly go there.

As for dream vacation:  Back to Australia, but this time I would like to make it up to the Reef, across the Outback, down to Tasmania and over to the west side of the continent to Perth (at least).  Of course, I'd have to stop in Melbourne and see DRs Tomovoz and Colin again, as well as meet DR ozderek.

OK - I need to run a few errands before driving back up.

Until I'm back in Fairfax...

Laters...
You would be more than welcome Jose. I hear the sound of OZ chocolate calling you. OzDerek's sister used to (!) work at the Chocolate factory in Hobart.
Magnus and Fosca are still talking about your visit.

BK, I bet you're FLATULENT...after a Mexican lunch.

I myself am eating a pastrami and egg sandwich which the girl who runs my local donut shop suggested.  I love their pastrami sandwiches.  I gotta admit, the pastrami and egg ain't bad at all.

Even thoughI've a ton of work I had to get out in the sunset for a little bit.  Glad I did.  I stopped at a bookstore in Brubank and found a variant copy of my novel DRAGONHEART that I had been looking for, for years. It was a school edition sold through Scholastic that had stills from the movie on the cover.

Growing up next door in Ohio and Kentucky, I'm aware of the charms of Indiana,  but speaking of urban blight.  I gotta say, Terre Haute, after Birmingham, Alabama, may be the ugliest city I ever passed through.  Though I did have one of the greatest filet mignon steaks I've ever had in my life there.  The thing was HUGE.  Speaking of FLATULENT!  What a meal that was!

MattH...alas...must disagree with Ron.  I think on your first trip you should only experience the charms of London.  It will be overwhleming enough.  To try and do more would be exhausting.  Bit by bit (A Sondheim reference?).

A chocolate donut on top of Mexican food?  How flatulent do you wish to be?

Jennifer, I see you have had expert responses to your question.

I prefer using cream of tarter to salt and usually and sugar.

Ron, they can’t test for everything.  You must be allergic to something, or there is some other medical problem the doctor simply can’t determine.

They have classified my symptoms as vasomotor rhinitis.  That means that nerve endings, in my nose and on my skin, are being reactive to "irritants".

Allergy tests only detect "immune reactions".  No immune reaction is involved in vasomotor rhinitis and tests cannot identify the irritants.

If you have positive tests, you are said to have "allergic rhinitis" and symptoms are classified as "immune reactions" to allergens (versus adverse reactions to irritants).

See?

DR Pogue:  I hoped that MattH would opt for several weeks on the Angle Isle.

He may never pass that way again...I'd hate for him to miss the suburban charms of the country.

But one could pass three weeks in London and only scratch the surface....

DR Jane I meant to comment on this yesterday.  You said that you were telling your son about the BACHELORETTE and how one of the contestants (ryan) was from Medford Oregon. Was it an article in the paper?  What did it say?  From what I've seen he seems like an awfully nice guy.

Not much.  It was a short blurb in the Medford Sunday paper-local kid sort of thing and that the town of Medford will be on the show.

Ron, by all means, if he's going to be there a month...venture out, be brave....Day trips can be taken to many places like Canterbury or Stonehenge...

I could spend three years in London and not discover all its joys.  I firmly believe Dr. Johnson's remark:  A man who is tired of London is tired of living."

Matt H I really don’t think of London as a romantic city, Venice and Paris yes.  Craig traveled through Europe after he graduated, stayed in youth hostels, and never mentioned he was lonely in any city.

Day trips are great fun and so easy on the train.  I wish I had more time exploring Cambridge when I was there.  And there are other towns I would visit.

The next time we go to England I doubt we will stay in the city.  We do have plans to visit a number of cemeteries and take photos of the sites, just the ones with my relatives in them.  Most important of all I will finally see where my grandparents are buried.

Ron, so you are saying it is all in your head. ;D

Do you plan to take something for that or just suffer?

Has anyone here seen "Caroline or Change"??  If so, is it a "must see" for a theatre person?  I have one night to see it before it goes away, I'd like to be sure it's worth my time. Is it?

Same sprays...decongestants...saline cleansing...etc.

As for suffering....what do I know from suffering?

LOL DR RON!  Rhinitis....isn't that an old record label?

Nearly time for THE AMAZING RACE!!

And I agree with DR RON re:Terre Haute....oh my.  There is no there there.

I think that I will have another Sloppy Joe sandwich, but I can't eat until NCIS is over....too much pathology going on.

Any word on the WAR OF THE WORLDS remake?  Except that it has Tom Cruise in it - I might be interested.  Somehow I would rather see Gene Barry save the world.

I think I need to find my copy of WAR OF THE WORLDS and read it again.  It's one of my favorite books.  When I was in grade school, Jules Verne was my favorite - but H.G. Wells with WORLDS and THE INVISIBLE MAN was a close second.

One night?

It's here through Feb. 20th.

Or are you free only one night between now and then??

Matthew-
The Gal saw "Caroline or Change" on Broadway and I type her words here: "It affected me profoundly emotionally. It was unlike anything else on Broadway and worth seeing for that reason alone."

She adds the caveat that some people find it a little slow and if you do not like gospel style music you may not enjoy it.

Good evening
I have returned from a very yummy Chinese dinner with my good friends Tiana and Christopher.  I had the General Tso's chicken and a cup of Won Ton soup.  I boxed most of the chicken to take home, though.  So now I either have lunch for tomorrow or a late night meal tonight...I suspect it'll probably be the latter :)
I splurged on it, though...I really can't afford a 10 dollar meal...

Hi all, I've been really busy and decided to just stay off the net for awhile. All is well. New Orleans isn't my dream vacation, but I'm going there on Thursday, so I won't be on for awhile.

How about Gary, Indiana - the Music Man
