NOTHING TO SAY
« on: February 08, 2005, 12:02:56 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, you are well aware that the notes had nothing to say, therefore it is time for you to post until the cows (who never have anything to say) come home.

I can't read today's column using AOL, but it does appear when I use Safari. Very strange.

AOL, as has been noted, sometimes caches old pages.  Clear your cache and voila.  Safari, unlike AOL, does not cache old pages.

That's a very scary thought! :o

I would return to Tahiti, Moorea, and Bora Bora, and stay in a fare ( hut ) on stilts which sits on the lagoon. There are plates of glass in the floor that one can remove and feed the tropical fish below.

Is everyone feeling FLATULENT right now?  Is that the reason no one is posting?

I forgot to mention that on The Hairdresser's Husband DVD is a short film directed by Patrice Leconte, entitled La Batteur de Bolero (The Drummer of Bolero).  It's eight minutes long.  It begins with a conductor giving the downbeat to an orchestra, which then begins to play Bolero.  The camera is behind the conductor.  It then dollies to the left and then slowly dollies back towards the back of the orchestra, where it finally settles on the man playing the snare drum.  It literally holds on that shot until the conclusion of Bolero.  I was howling - the guy is great, and his expressions are priceless.  Brilliant.

Easy (and typical):  First, I'd head to California and visit my father's family.  Then, I'd go to New York for a month, then London for a month and do nothing but see theatre (well...almost nothing ;) ).  Then I'd swing on over to Germany and visit my mother's family.  Then, well, I don't know what I'd do then.  Maybe just rent a car and hire a (very attractive) driver and drive around Europe and just go everywhere.

Why is February WUSSBURGER month?  Who decreed it thusly?  January, we had nothing but late-night denizens, now we've got nothing but FLATULENT WUSSBURGERS.  What a revoltin' development this is.

All I have to say is: FLATULENT.

There, I've said it and I'm glad.

Good for you!  Of course, I'm NOT flatulent.  I have had moments in the past, but they were fortunately few and far between.

These were the most FLATULENT notes I've ever read...all wind. I'm trying to use the word of the day in a sentence every day...I hope it won't be a FLATULENT exercise.

Dream vacation would be where I always take my dream vacation BRITAIN...but this time I would try to get out of London a bit more (if one could pry me away from the theatre) and see more of the whole British Isles.  Some castles, monuments like Stonehenge, the White Cliffs of Dover, Hay-on-Wye-- the book city (in fact, I could probably spend a whole vacation right there).

I would also like to take one of those riverboat cruises up the Mississippi and Ohio, preferably the fall one to see all the colours change...though spring or summer would be nice too...Just to sit on deck with a good book and relax and watch the world roll by.

In fact, as I get older, the more I like to do almost nothing on my vacations.  A couple of weeks just lounging at the San Ysidro Ranch (which has one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at) sounds ideal.

Another vacation I'd like to do is travel cross-country with my friend Roger in my Dodge Caravan and just stop at as many used bookstores in all the cities and backwater towns we could, filling up the van with book purchases.

And I hope you'll enjoy Monsieur Hire and look forward to your comment on it on the notes of tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. That is my most favorite film of all his, Patrice Leconte's, products.

The Hairdresser's Husband: the plot is simple as you said, dear BK,  and the wife's psychology is complexed and the last scene is very philosophycal, I think. It shocked me.

As to Billy Herrington:

Some time back, when I received an e-mail from kcaJ relgnarW, I purposely spelled his name backwards to keep Google from sending the wrong people to this here site.  But now that ylliB notgnirreH is out of the closet, maybe we will find a humongous increase in hits.  Hey, hits is hits!

Only time will tell if Mr. notgnirreH will make as good a marriage as Mr. relgnarW has.
