Evening folks.

Not much to say for myself tonight.  We’re finely having nice weather down here.

Since I’m the only one on the board right now I take it it’s the same for everyone else.

Wednesday blues I guess.  At least we have LOST tonight.

Vibes for Joe’s Angel!

[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/move]

I am really enjoying the Seaford saga.  I’m up to book four.  I even dreamed about him last night.  I don’t usually do that about a book character.  The only other that comes to mind was Paul from Dune.

Laters.

What is this lull?

Do I have bad breath?

Or is it just that folks are in travel/dining mode on the east coast, while mid-westerners are getting off...and left coasters are wrapping things up for the day?

I feel so....a-l-o-n-e...............

To counteract the Leslie Parrish's rampant cheesecake-ness, here is a photo of my previous interviewee, Richard Harrison that I just won on Ebay.

I think you're pretty REAL, too, JRand....even if I don't quite get your obsession with B-movie queens!

I think it's a charming part of who you are, however, so please understand that my saying "I don't get" the obsession in NO WAY IMPLIES I am complaining about it.

I have just realized, MY LIFE CONTAINS CONFLICT!!!

Lost and Alias both will be running over tonight...

But a NEW EPISODE of Good Eats is scheduled to start at 10:00!!!

 :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

(Actually, I've already checked the recipes for tonight's show.  The program is on carrots (title: "A Taproot Orange"), and his recipe for glazed carrots is pretty much like mine, only he uses ginger ale as the cooking/glazing liquid, while I prefer apple juice with some sugar added.)

I have eaten a turkey sandwich of my own making, and a salad of my own making.  I am on the road to losing weight now.  Lost some over the last two days, and if I can be good this evening, I shall lose more.

Good evening, fellow dear readers.

I hope Angel Jim's hearing went well today and that both families can have a big celebration together soon.

My question for Ask BK Day:
Dear BK,
Is Guy Haines going to sing "Laura" on his new CD?

You know, many years ago, I lost 165 lbs.  But believe me, the divorce was worth every penny that it cost me.

We have to save Laura for our film noir album.

Now, let me get this perfectly straight - I AM THE ONLY ONE ON THIS BOARD AT SIX O'CLOCK???

No, you're not...sort of.  Actually, I'm at work and have been very busy!  Today is the cut-off day for our invoicing.  The invoices for books and A/V items that our library has bought have to be enterered into the computer by the time the last person in the Acquisitions department leaves today (and that would be me) or they won't get paid at the end of the month. :o And that would not be a good thing.

I'm glad Guy Haines is not singing Laura on the new album.  As I like Guy Haines' rare and less-frequently-done selections and Laura is just done too much.  However, Guy Haines should definitely sing the rare and less-frequently-done DAYDREAMER.

Will Mr. Haines' producer be revealing the ultimate selections or will he reserve it for a surprise upon the album's imminent release?  And that is my BK question for the day.  I personally think I'd almost rather not know until nearer the time.

Ann is never catching up.  I'm afraid I've given up on dear Ann.

Pogue: I probably won't reveal the selections until just before the release.  People have been known to come here and RIP OFF OUR IDEAS.  So, I've stopped giving details about things I'm working on.

And dear reader Stuart seems to have gone the way of dear brother Jay.

And you know, I'm not supposed to say these things, but I just find it ever so off-putting, oh, yes, I find it ever so off-putting.  Thank heavens we still have the best group of people on the Internet, with new ones joining us all the time.

This is just my opinion, but this site has given a lot of comfort and entertainment to a lot of people, and for a couple of them, for whatever good reasons they may think they have, to just up and leave without so much as a how-do-you do is just downright or even upleft peculiar to me.  Oh, I know the PMs and the e-mails fly fast and furious, but they don't come my way, so for me it's a little like a slap in the face - both to me and other dear readers.

I will now get off my soap box.

I do hope elmore will put aside his loathing of the Drama Book Shop and that he'll come to the reading.  It won't be quite the same without him there.

Guy goes into a bar, sits down, orders a drink.  He suddenly hears, "Hey, nice tie."  He looks around, doesn't see anyone.  Takes a swig of his drink.  He hears, "Nice suit."  He looks around, doesn't see anyone.  Very puzzled, he takes another drink.  He hears, "You're lookin' really good tonight."  Looks around, same thing.  He calls the bartender over and he says, "Look, this is driving me a little crazy - I keep hearing a voice saying things like, "Nice tie, nice suit, you're lookin' really good tonight."  What gives?  The bartendar says, "Oh, it's the peanuts - they're complimentary."

Thanks DR RON - but do I really have an obsession, or is it just a piquant curiosity?

I have to work on my project.  I have to finish this thing!  It has to be done by Friday.  And I want to get to the end, so I can send it through the computer one more time before numbering the pages.

*sigh*

Lovely blonde girl goes out to go ice fishing, just like she saw on tv.  She cuts a hole in the ice and drops in her line.

Suddenly a voice from above says: "There are no fish under the ice there."

She thinks is it God speaking to her, so she moves a few feet away.  The same thing happens.  Then it happens again.

Finally she says:  "Are you God?"

And the voice says: "No.  This is the manager of the skating rink.  There are no fish under the ice."
