As I mentioned yesterday, I'm seeing the Irving Berlin exhibit on Thursday.

DR Ben, I just came from the Irving Berlin exhibit, which includes a score by the great Frank Saddler from 1918.  There are some wonderful scene designs by Mielziner, Raul Pene duBois, among others, and it's all tied in with that great new book, IRVING BERLIN'S SHOW BUSINESS.

Hmm, a slow day at Chez Kimmel.

That's the title of my next novel "A Slow Day at Chez Kimmel"

Unfortunately, I don't have much to add to the mix.

I'm Post 3 at 7:18 in the morning.

As I mentioned yesterday, I'm seeing the Irving Berlin exhibit on Thursday. On Saturday I'm seeing an exhibit called:

Bodies...The Exhibition

as they say on the Web site, it's a phenomenal look at the phenomenon we call the human body

Sounds like fun!

That looks fascinating. Wish I could see it

DR Elmore, what do you know about the disco BABES IN TOYLAND that was planned during the late 70s?

It was produced by Fran and Barry Weissler (oy!) and had huge puppets from the creators of HR PUFNSTUF (?), and looks like a mess from the souvenir program.  I believe there was a recording, but I never want to hear it.!  A friend of mine was in it as Barnaby.

At about 50 cents a movie you probably can't be too particular.

That's what I'm putting on your tombstone!

[song cue:]

Say, have you met my friend Alene?
Alene, the Annie Hall Alien.
Last night she abducted me an' inserted a probe.
Now I'm missing a piece of my frontal lobe.
I woke up this morning on the lawn in my robe.
Have you met Alene, the Alien?

La-Dee-Dah!
La-Dee-Dah!

LOL!!! That was so good I shall forgive you Howard the Duck AND  The White Castle!!!  :-* ;D

Looking at the Deceit video, which I must say looks pretty terrific.  Still a couple of masking issues the editor missed, but those will be easy to fix.

Dear Uncle Screwtape,

You might wish to consider a purchase of "Disco Babes in Toyland"to have on hand for playing in an endless loop should a certain Mr. Moore enter your domain.

JR - Re your question from yesterday about the music for the tap routine -- I asked for specific tune, but it might be something else. I doubt that they will write original music for the number.

MBarnum - Are you planning to see Deepa Mehta's film, WATER?

I'd pay a dollar to see that!

:D

But a reverse hell could be sharing that room with you and  listening to arrangements of  "Babes in Toyland" and "Darling of the Day" throughout eternity.

Had a lovely lunch with my friend Jeff. Things not as bad as I feared, so all should be well in time.

Spent much of the afternoon with some of last night's TV shows. Started off with VERONICA MARS with a couple of very unexpected developments. And, yes, the season-long mystery does indeed seem to be coming to its conclusion. I suspect there will still be a surprise or two to be pulled on us, however.

Next I watched last night's BOSTON PUBLIC. This show is not realistic a depiction of the legal profession, but I don't think anyone wants it to be. It's outrageous, absurd fun. Enjoyed it.

And then came LESS THAN PERFECT. Patrick Warburton has lost a considerable amount of weight! I didn't notice it last week on the premiere, but it was certainly evident in last night's episode.

The show always makes me smile even if there weren't as many laugh out loud moments as there were in BOSTON PUBLIC.

I just downloaded a MY FAIR LADY parody that I've known about for years but never heard:  MY SQUARE LADDIE.  I don't yet know if this is actually funny or not (I think Nancy Walker is involved), but the title of one of the songs has me giggling--"I'm Kinda Partial To His Puss".

That's why I love it so! Nothing like being arrested , arraigned, tried and acquitted in the space of 48 hours! Usually 48 months is speedy!!

The Tennessee Williams' DVDs came in today, but since I had already started THE TOWERING INFERNO yesterday, I just continued another 40 minutes with it to conclude my afternoon viewing.

Irwin Allen did know how to pack in the stars in his disaster extravaganzas, didn't he?

I know! Both trials last night were up before the bench faster than a speeding bullet. Superman could go no faster!  :)

Wednesday afternoon greetings!  I was unable to get onto this site this morning before leaving home.  It's now my dinner break (3-cheese macaroni with broccoli from Nothing but Noodles).

Safe road trip vibes for DR PennyO!

Finished watching Deceit, but now must go through it again and note exactly where the problems are so we can go directly to them and save lots of searching time.  Still officially exhausted and brain dead, however.

Absolutely! I am hoping it will play on the big screen in Portland, but if not then I will at least buy the DVD...of course it stars Mr. John Abraham so you know I wouldn't miss it!

That's what I'm talkin' about!!

...but seriously folks, I am very pleased that John is being cast in something other then the run of the mill action/adventure Bollywood films and is in a serious drama for a change (he was in a comedy last year that he was quite good in!).

Bollywood action films are everybit as ridiculous and CGI'd as Hollywood action films.
