Good morning, all!

Today I'll be packing and loading the car for the trek down to LA for my nephew's wedding next Saturday. Then at about 4:30 I'll head into Seattle for tonight's performance. The play runs about 2 hours, with an intermission - and there will probably be about half an hour of discussion/Q&A after - and then I'll get to meet DR George.

I had planned to stay in Seattle tonight, instead of making the hour and a half drive back to the cabin, then going back into Seattle at 8:30 tomorrow to pick up another nephew for the drive down... but I just don't want to miss the visit by the baby raccoons tonight!! So - yes, I'll come back to the cabin after the show, and yes, I'll get up early tomorrow morning and go back to Seattle to pick up said nephew...

I tell ya' this place is magical - I hate to leave, and I'm always so glad to get back! The birds, the animals, the garden, the STREAM that runs right by the house... serenity and bliss.

But - I will love being with the family for this wedding. What an emotional time it will be for us, and how we will all miss my parents! AND on the next evening, I'll get to see Bruce's new show on its feet! That'll be swell!

I am at work right now and we are busy stuffing bags (pamphlets, condoms and tootsie rolls, etc.) for AIDS Walk on Sunday.  I can't believe it's only a few days away. This is my 6th AIDS Walk and I am walking with my mom this year since she will be in town for my graduation.

It really is- GMHC has been such a huge part of my whole grad school experience.  My early volunteer work confirmed that I wanted to pursue my degree and then helped me in the application process.  Last year I did my field work placement here, and then they hired me part-time after I left my job at Disney.

Re: the President on tv tonight. I'm not sure how long he'll be on every network. But Fox is advertising it as Pres from 8pm-8:20, followed by the season Finale of Prison Break, and then 24. I'm pretty sure they will stick to this schedule.

Re: last night's DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

I actually thought the show was pretty good.  Yes it was sort of somber and chilling. But there were lots of new developments.

I thought the whole thing with lynnette was quite interesting, the way she followed tom.  The promos had made me think that he was not cheating.  And then when she was gone at the end, it brought back the conversation that she had had with him re: cheating and how she would leave.

I thought that the whole thing with carlos, gabby and the surrogate was quite foreshadowing of things to come.

And I thought that edie and the fight and the bee thing was pretty funny. Oh and susan and the wire.  And it was nice to see susan with the plumber again. And REALLY nice to see Susan get to interact so much with bree.  I have said this before, but i really wish that was a lot more interaction between the four stars. Too often it feels like they are leading completely separte lives.

Also, re: bree, i was not expecting any of that!

Oh and the end with paul young was interesting too. Can't wait for the season finale next week.

That's not what i meant.  They are supposed to be such good friends, yet they rarely interact.  Often the show seems like 4 separate shows.  I think the show would be a lot better if there was more interaction with the 4 leads. I know i love it when the characters interact.

I agree with your comments.  I do think it's about time that Bree get some serious help but I felt bad that her family so completely fell apart.  I do kind of feel like the writers kind of created her daughter's nastiness out of nowhere this season.  I feel awful for Lynette.  I can't wait to see how it is all going to work out.  I also loved Paul Young's reaction to the whole thing at the end- "she is really good" I expected that maybe he would be pushed over the edge but it seemed like he was already calculating his options.

Here is the new fall schedule for NBC:
http://www.tvrules.net/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=9993

That figures!  The two shows that I would look forward to--20 GOOD YEARS and 30 ROCK--are going to run against LOST.  Otherwise, I guess I'll give the STUDIO 60 show a try.  And it looks like NBC is giving no consideration to Saturday nights.

Home from errands and ready for a nap!

We will also skip the President tonight, because we will be attending the 25th anniversary gala for the local school district's Gifted and Talented Enrichment (GATE) program, in which DH Richard was the math/science teacher for the last 15 years of his career and DS Rob was a communication arts student in 4th-6th grades.

JRand - I heard that the "new" cuts on the PAJAMA GAME CD are just cuts that Harry Connick Jr wanted to add.  They aren't in the show, just on the CD. Sort of like bonus features on a DVD

I'm killing a little time here at the office. I'm off to see my doctor at 2:30 pm about the burn-out issue.  I'm hoping to leave there with a note saying I need an extended leave for health reasons.

Skip the President--sounds like an idea to me.

It also sounds like the title of a comedy pilot that wasn't picked up.  About America's first twenty year-old elected leader.
