What are Malomars?

Mallomars were first introduced to the public in 1913,

A circle of Graham cracker is covered with a puff of marshmallow, then covered in a hard shell of pure dark chocolate.

Mallomars are not available in the summer months as they melt easily in the warm temperatures, so says Nabisco.  I remember having them all year round as a child.  They were my father’s favorite cookie.

Back from my second jog of the day - aside from stopping at the half-way point to get some licorice, I did the full mile and a half jog, so that's three miles today.

Congrats to TPunk!

Home from work now.  As I was driving, the enormity hit me of the fact that, after tomorrow, I won't be doing this 12-9 shift on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  I am so looking forward to having those evenings back to spend with my family.

DR Vixmom - will you email me the link to The Vixter's pledge page?

And, I've been meaning to tell you since your dream story the other day:  When you do come to Ohio to visit your brother in his new house, please let me know and I will make every effort to get together with you.

I am so sorry to hear about Lestat closing.  Jose mentioned to me that it might be so but I didnt want to post anything of the type on a public site.  As it turns out, I will be there at the last performance.

I'll sne the link right over.  I probably won't be visiting for several months at least but I will indeed let you know when  I'm coming so I can get around that very effective gatekeeper you have!! I woke up very annoyed with her after that dream!!! ;D

It was weird to come home from work late on a Tuesday evening and not have Boston Legal to watch with my DH.

I had heard about LESTAT closing from an insider last night but didn't say anything for fear of being a predictor of doom.

I'm very disappointed for the show and for DR Jose, but there's always the next gig. Onward and upward!

I did not watch AMERICAN IDOL tonight. I did have the DVR pick it up and thought I might scan through it tomorrow, but since I knew there would be repeats of songs already performed, I wasn't interested in giving up the whole hour for it.

Instead I watched the first hour of THE NEGOTIATOR, one of my favorite thrillers of the last decade. With the phone calls raging, I didn't get an hour of it watched before HOUSE came on, and after HOUSE, I put it back on but again got less than 20 more minutes watched due to phone calls and other interruptions. Will look forward to finishing it tomorrow.

HOUSE had one of its grisliest hour in its two year history tonight, and I was thoroughly confounded by the show until the surprise ending. What a way to end the season!

Sorry to hear that Lestat is closing. But Jose is so talented, he will get picked up quickly. He's always busy working.

Some good news (well for our family at least)

At the spring concert tonight it was announce that the Vixter was this year's winner of the Music Association Scholarship, seven weeks here www.usdan.com

We had no clue that she had been selected, in fact we have never heard of a singer being selected, it is usually a band or orchestra student.

She was so shocked that she just stood there in her place with the chorus until the girls around her said." That's YOU!! Go up accept it!!!" and pushed her forward,  Vixdad and I sat there with our mouths hanging open while everyone around us slapped us on the backs and congratulated us.

We're so proud!

TOD - White-Chocolate-Covered Oreos, which are available only at Christmastime (thank goodness) and which I like to refrigerate before eating.

Dr Ginny, those are EVIL to the waistline!! :)

Congratulatory vibes to the vixter!

Vixmom and vixter - I'll be in a crappy "budget" seat at Lestat on Sunday, but hope we'll hook up either at intermission or after the show.  Look for Ron's avatar, only enhanced with 60 extra pounds and 15 extra years.  :)   I'll try to remember to bring along the passport with that photo so you can vouch for the fact that my "separated at birth" theory about Ron and me isn't a delusion of grandeur.  :)  :)
