I'm stitting here at work, waiting for my boss to come back.  We have a conference to go to next week here in Tampa and we were going to go pick up the package.   She said we would leave at about 4:00 but here it is 5:35 and she still hasn't come back from her last meeting.  Sigh.

Thanks.  I had a small taste last night, enough to taste the crust and the filling together.  The orchestra really liked it!!

And speaking of "Smell-O-Vision" and "Odorama", Chelsea Clearview Cinemas - Where Dreams Come True - here in New York City, is in the midst of their John Waters month for their Chelsea Classics series.  To close out the month next week, they will be showing "Polyester", and they will have the scratch and sniff cards!  (-While supplies last.)  I can't go to the Thursday showing, but I may end up at one of the midnight showings next weekend.

A little weatherbug tells me it is 114F. And it feels every bit of it, too.

The printer guy fixed the printer today -- and I mentioned that the newly donated copy machine was jammed, and he fixed it at no charge.

Hi all,

Just popping in to let you know that all is ok.  I went to the doctor yesterday and while I didn't get a total clean bill of health, it's nothing like the "C" word.

I confess I was pretty scared.

I need to try to go back and catch up on the last weeks posts.  I hope I didn't miss anything important and that everything is going fine for everyone here.  :)

DR Danise, good news!  I'm very happy.

I do my damndest!

The power failure in Queens is truly alarming:  100,000 people without power since Monday.  The damned power company Con Edison is finally admitting the problem is bigger than they realized.  Manhattan is so lucky.

It sounds like an Enron stunt.

It's such a joke! I knew they couldn't be right when they were saying only 2,100 people were still without power, and I'm walking from the subway to work today and every little business on the street is closed, losing precious money. Every stoplight on the street not working. We were able to operate today, but because we had an outside generator brought in. Still didn't have AC. Really seeing now and after the far worse Katrina episode, that we cannot realistically count on the govt in times of emergency.

Understand, it was 95 degrees Tuesday, and for what is still an unknown reason, people out there in Queens are without full power three days later!

Reminder that there are new episodes tonight of MONK and PSYCH. ENjoyed PSYCH last week a lot more than the pilot, so I'll be interested to see if it keeps up its momentum.

I wonder if they'll attempt to keep up the fake psychic bit throughout the whole series.  I think that it could get old very quickly.  The guy has very astute observational abilities and I find that much more interesting that him trying to continue the charade.

Ooo, let's:  Yesterday, I finished reading (with my ears) The Whole World Over.  Now, I want to go to Greenwich Village to shop at Fenno's book shop and eat Greenie's coconut cake at Walter's new restaurant.  What, they're fictional?  Oh, darn!

Well... On a related note...

While walking to rehearsal this morning, I happened to pass Magnolia Bakery.  At first I thought there was already a line of people outside at 11:00am, but it turned out that it was the staff sitting outside on the sidewalk.  Their air-conditioning was not working, and so they were closed for business.  There was a sign saying they would be opening at Noon, but as I looked at the guys inside trying to position fans in front of the cake and cupcake displays... :-\

Thanks, DR Elmore.  I hope everything turns out just as well for you.

No change with my Mom.  She still won't use the oxygen.   She is eating a little bit better which is good news.
