We watched Deceit last night.  Lots of twists and turns, we had fun trying to guess the outcome.  At one point I thought that for sure I had it, but I was wrong.

I could be wrong, but I believe Sian Phillips' character in I, CLAUDIUS is named Livia, not Lavinia. The Nancy Marchand character in THE SOPRANOS was named Livia in honor of this monster mother from I, CLAUDIUS, I think.

Isn't that what I said?  I'll go look at the notes, but that was my obvious point.

Oops (spoo spelled backawards) - it was late when I wrote the notes - I meant Livia, of course (otherwise my point makes no sense) and have fixed the notes.

(to the tune of Hello dolly)

You're looking svelte, BK
Ladies melt, BK
When they flirt, it's your loose shirt
That keeps 'em comin' on

Oh, well, I thought I was on to something, but maybe not.

But it's a post, anyway.  :)

You had me doubting my sanity for a moment. An easy thing to do these days. (reference my washing my billfold yesterday.)

DR GINNY - our local MEIER store has some nice desk chairs, if you didn't find one already.

Auditioning for a role in TO KILL A  MOCKINGBIRD tonight....time will tell.  I will be thinking of MR BK's departed pelicans, as I do.

Many people encroaching on my time today.....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

And spending some time tonight with Molly before she flies off to Seattle tomorrow....I guess I didn't do enough to make her stay.

Time will tell if it is the right decision for her....

Back later or sooner....

I, too, was sorry to read about the birdlets.

In a perverse way, though, it reminded me of a bygone tale of flying dead things in BK's old house.

In honor of BK's birdies:

I'll fly away,
Oh, Glory.
I'll fly away.
When I die,
Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away.

No posts in forty-five minutes.  Sorry, but it is DEADLY around here and I think we need some frenzies instead of people sitting on their complacent butt cheeks staring at the ceiling and dreaming of Rod McKuen poetry.  Skammen, I say, and skammen I say again.  You know me - I'm a loose cannon, baby, and I might just suddenly lock the discussion board until July is over because the heat has gotten to me and I've become quite insane and may do anything.

Just had a visit from the DWP to see why the bill is so high - he did some checking and said my water consumption is down 25% from last year.  I explained to him that that is NOT reflected on my bills, so further checking is in order.

Perhaps they are counting all the sweat passed through the Californians (and New Yorkers) as they work their way through the Heat Wave. Although it is nice in New York today. It's supposed to get hot and muggy again later in the week, but right now it's pleasant. And I say Hoo and Ray!

Perhaps you have Water Gipsies in your pool.

I just picked up the Original London Cast of The Water Gipsies by Vivian Ellis. It's listed as a "musical play by A.P. Herbert with music by Vivian Ellis" I will play it this evening.

I also got the demo recording of All American which is reviewed at Playbill On-Line

DR Jose, I watched Big Brother last night and most of Miss Universe.  Althought I don't really care for the fact that we don't get to hear them speak till the end of the show!

I thought the winner was the worst of the final 5. I just didn't care for her.

My favorite parts of the show thought were 1) the opening seeing all the costumes from the various countries and 2) the evening gown comp.

I'm finally at work.  My cat threw up last night before I went to bed and then when I woke up, I found that she had thrown up again.  I hope it's nothing serious. :o She otherwise doesn't seem sick.

I just finished interviewing the delightful 1950s Columbia Studios starlet Angela Stevens...it was a lot of fun!!!

She appeared in 3 or 4 Three Stooges short subjects as well as the movies CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN, JACK MCCALL DESPERADO, THE HOODLUM, and some Jungle Jim movies. Her first movie was TEA FOR TWO and she had a small role in FROM HERE TO ETERNITY (Donna Reed was not very nice to her!).

Isn't she purty!

Believe it or not she was just a housewife looking to earn a second income for the family and sort of fell into films, which she had no interest in...just so long as she got that paycheck!

Miss USA wore the evening gown designed for her by Kayne, one of the Project Runway contestants, in last week's show:

It's unbearably hot here.  Thinking about food and finally turned on the air.  Have done some writing but not enough, so I'll turn my attention to that right now.

In order to stay cool this weekend, I had to shut off my bedroom from my main room (where the A/C unit is in the window).  My bedroom is where my computer is.  And it's been an oven in there for days, it seems.

It sits in a corner that is one of the "pockets" of warm air that never seems to disperse no matter how much cooler the room gets when I turn the fan on.
