And I liked the movie too.

Good to see a post from DR Jed who is young enough to be my grandson.

My nephew said the other day "There can't be many people who are grandfathers and still have their own grandfather living".  Nephew Malcom has five grandchildren.

DP Kerry forwarded a wonderful "Mutts" cartoon to me.  In it, Mooch (I think) is explaining the watch on his arm, and no matter where the hands point, it just says "Now."

Not a bad place to stay centered in.  How much time do we all waste, regretting or worrying about things that are either before or after "Now."

TOD :

Because I've always been interested in the things you find in common, when reading about comparitive religion, I was, and still am, an admirer of the writings of Ernest Holmes.  He founded a religion called "Religious Science,"  and it has many similar ideas and tenets as found in "Unity" and "Christian Science."

TOD - cont. :

I also happen to have learned a lot of useful wisdom from the writings of a lady named Lois W.

I have a small foldover pamphlet titled "Just For Today" that stays tucked in my shirt pocket most of the time.  Lots of useful thoughts and wisdom in just a few sentences.

Has a picture been taken with all the different generations?  Shortly after my niece was born, they got a picture with five generations of my niece's father's family...my niece, her mother (my sister), her father and aunt (her father's sister), her grandmother (father's mother), great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother (who died a couple of years later).

Not as yet DR George. Logistics and distance don't make it easy but I hope it will happen. Even if it is a compromise with just members of each generation. My father has not met any of his great great grandchildren.

Add me to the Calvin and Hobbes groupies.  I think I have every collection of the cartoons that came out and they still can make me laugh out loud.  There is now a boxed set of The Complete Calvin & Hobbes for around $90 bucks that I'll eventually have to get, I'm sure.

I don't think we have had nearly enough postings on the topic of the day.  I'm interested to hear everyone's thoughts.

Then again, I don't think we've had nearly enough postings period.

I'm almost to the end of act one doing rewrites and fixes to The Brain.  Between David and I, we're hoping to be finished by Friday and that's the script we'll go into rehearsal with.

Dear Esteemed and prolific BK --

Continued good luck and terrific ideas on the Brain material.  May you go into rehearsals with a gem of a script.

From my mouth to God's ears!  (And that's a form of philosophy also, so it pertains to the TOD :)  )

Most of the script worked to our satisfaction at the staged reading, but what didn't work was very obvious to both of us - we were on exactly the same page about fixes, most of which had to do with two characters, and strengthening the hero of the show and his family.  Even though it's a sendup, I feel you have to believe in the characters who have something to lose, i.e. their humanity.

BK, I don't know if this is an issue, but when I posted my last post, the time stamp says 06:21:16pm, but the Official U.S. time said 06:14pm! (I don't remember how many seconds, though).  That's a seven minute difference.  Just letting you know, in case something needs to be done about it...or not.

And I posted this post at exactly 06:19:00.

T.O.D.

This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Now THAT'S my new philosophy!  Actually, I use the line "To thine own self be true" quite a bit.  I should've remembered it myself...but I didn't. ::) Thanks for choosing it, TCB. :)

I don't know why the timestamp here is so off.

I don't know why we have this dearth of postings on a Monday.  Get with it, people, or be bitch-slapped from here to eternity and hell and back.

I had a great sentencing today. Let's just say I kicked butt and took names. My client ended up with 1 day probation and the government got chewed out for the way they handled the case
