When BK started the record label with which he is no longer affiliated, they used to have weekly contests on the website.  The very first contest (if I remember correctly...IIRC in Internet lingo) was to identify the baby pictures of their recording artists (carry-overs from Varèse Sarabande).  One of them was for Guy Haines and his cute little baby face was showing!  At the time, I actually did download the picture, but a couple of years ago, my computer crashed and I lost EVERYTHING on it...including Guy Haines' baby picture (also, the website has changed so much that it's no longer there, either). :( But at one point, it was available for all the world to see. :D

Well... you know... I meant his adult face NOT his baby face (You Should Have Starred In Something! BooBoop A Doop!) :D

That Haines! Oh what a Guy!

Francois - Is that another lyric I've misheard on the Thoroughly Modern Millie soundtrack?  I thought Julie Andrews was singing "You sure have started something," but  "You should have starred in something" seems much better.

But then, count me among those who thought Ms. Andrews was saying "tapioca puh-pudding" when it was really "tapioca for pudding."

Watched some fun things on TV tonight.

Finished FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. I have to say the last 40 minutes or so does have some transfer issues with softness and artifacts.

So, overall, I'd say this is a film that could do with a thorough restoration. It's not in the terrible shape that MY FAIR LADY was in before it was rescued, but there are definite problems if the present DVD is the best we have now.

Next, I put in SHERLOCK HOLES IN WASHINGTON. I hadn't watched this one from the Rathbone/Holmes boxed set in quite some time, and it was nice to see Marjorie Lord among the supporting players.

MONK had a fun episode tonight with an especially hilarious sequence where Monk goes through the five stages of grief in about thirty seconds only to start repeating again as if on a loop. Made me fall out of my chair laughing.

And in the Jewish Wedding Song, I also thought she was singing "Be happy, mention Alice" when she was singing "Be happy, menschen allus."

And PSYCH had a diverting episode, too, with a nod to SYBIL.

The characters that the two stars play are still such frat boys, however.

I guess I thought Alice was the name of the Jewish bride.

I can say without fear of contradiction - no video of Simply Sondheim - ever.

Thanks to all who've ordered, and hopefully more will order over the weekend.  Have no idea if there will be a trivia question - we'll see how I'm feeling.  Had dinner, met with a guy with whom I'm doing a little project, and made some beautiful color Xeroxes of the cover.

Shayne, you have incorrect info re the musical director - that guy didn't do the show - the proper guy is listed on the Kritzerland site.

We're very happy - got word today that the wonderful Jessica Skerritt will be in NYC to do our readings of THE LAST STARFIGHTER on Sept. 29-30.

No, it's my own version of the song!

I apologize to the authors!

(Must be the "repressed" lyricist in me! ;)

Chorus:
Hallelujah, hallelujah!
Millie:
Babyface, you've got the cutest little Babyface.
There is no other one could take your place, Babyface.
Chorus:
Hallelujah!
Millie:
You sure have started something, Babyface,
I'm up in heaven when I'm in your fond embrace.
I didn't need a shove cause I just fell in love
With your pretty Baby!
Chorus:
Hallelujah!
Millie:
You've got the cutest little!
Chorus:
Hallelujah!
Millie:
There's not another one could take your place, Babyface.
Chorus:
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah...
Bass in chorus:
You've got the cutest little!
Millie:
Alleluia I'm up in heaven when I'm alleluia!
In your fond embrace.
Didn't need a shove, 'cause I fell in love
With your pretty
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia,
Babyface.
Chorus:
Hallelujah!
Millie:
Boop-boop-ee-doop!

The work day is over.

I've shopped at the grocery for this and that.

I've set up my VHS recorder to tape the 200th episode of "Stargate: SG-1"

I've napped an hour-plus.

I've had a nice filet and baked potato.

And am now indulging in PBS airings of "Rosemary and Thyme."

Just a quiet, coolish evening at home...away from all the cares of the world....until the 11 o'clock news interecedes...!

Later!

Also, has anyone noticed how few sculptors there are from the modern age that are known by practically all by name?  There's Rodin.  There's Calder.  There's not too many others.

Add Henry Moore:

Rodzinski, should I send you the Sondheim press release for playbill - or should I send it to Gans?  Whichever, can you provide me with e-mail addresses for you and him?  The gal who does it is out of town, so I have to do it.
