I shall now be on my way to rehearsal and then we'll have one hour before our performance call - I may come back to the hotel to freshen up.

Good morning!

Beautiful day - clearly a fall day with this morning's temps in the 50s, and the highs not to get out of the 60s today.

I wish every day could be like this!

At some point this weekend, I must make my way to Best Buy to get that Sci-Fi set with TARANTULA and THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN in it. I like Best Buy fine, but I DESPISE these exclusive sets at select retailers.

I forgot to mention this.

I saw on Playbill On-Line this morning that Elizabeth Allen died.

Playbill

Even though the show was not particularly successful her biggest success was probably playing the lead in the Rodgers/Sondheim show, Do I Hear a Waltz?.

She had retired and was living in a nursing home in upstate New York.

There was a beautiful house across the street from me in Studio City which was kept up perfectly - but nobody seemed to live there. Curious. I was finally told by one of my neighbors who knew everything about the street - that the house was owned by Elizabeth Allen - who hadn't lived there for years, but still held onto it. Each time I went by that empty house, I thought of her...

Good Morning, Once Again!

-Who knew so much could be done before Noon!

:P

In any case...

I found my passport.  In the first box I looked in - WHEW!  And HOO and RAY!  -Of course, since I found it so quickly, I decided to snoop some other boxes.  Consequently, I'm also taking a box of cookware and sheet music with me back up to DC.  -With the fall weather coming in, I figured it would be a good idea to have my stockpot and Dutch oven with me.  :)

And Steve's visit to the the dentist went very well too.  And he was very surprised at how painless the whole procedure was.  Of course, the nitrous oxide helped, but he keeps commenting on how he could see the doctor doing what the doctor needed to do, but how he could not feel any of it.  -And still doesn't feel anything.  -But there's a pill of pain-killers close by if needed.  ;)

Well... Time for me to head back north... And I think I'll go ahead and stop at IKEA to pick up an end table or two and some lunch.

Perfection of the understatement:

From a Summer Movie Blog discussing the possibity Emma Wtson will not renew for the last two Potter films:
Quote
Will Watson return or depart? Only time will tell. Until then, all we can do is throw around wild conjectures as to who might replace her. My money is on Helen Mirren -- finest British actress in film today. Although she might be a spot too old.

A SPOT!!!!!!!!

I took the day off today because the weather was so nice and it will begin to feel like fall starting this weekend...so I wanted to be able to enjoy this final last sunny warm day.

Now it is time to take Bosco for a walk.

Back for but a moment - had a sort-of runthrough of most of the show - I completely zoned out a couple of times - hopefully my head will be together for the performance and hopefully my voice will be, too.  Now for a quick cuppa tea, then back

However did I miss this news flash?

RUBBER CHICKEN FLINGERS DEFEND TITLES AT 2006 FAIR
Quote

In the world of flying rubber chickens, two previous champions defended their titles in the Ladies' Rubber Chicken Throwing contest held August 16 at the 2006 Iowa State Fair.

Paulette Putz, 37, of Milo took top honors in the ages 16-50 division, lobbing her chicken 57 feet through the air. In the ages 51 and over category, Barbara Kenney, 57, flung her flying apparatus 51 feet to claim the title.

And I missed the Indiana annual downtown tractor parade as well!
