Concur with CILLALIZ on the Marathon Man dental scene. I still get the creeps when I think about it.

As for general sleeze, no films come to mind. What has happened to my memory? A brain dump of all films that weren't worth watching? Well, after a certain age there isn't room for all that stuff!

Cilla - Oh, spoo and double spoo.  I just googled "To Stir With Love" and it turns out there was a SIMPSONS episode with that title, and also a couple of newspaper articles that seem to be about diet.  Not that there's any reason you can't use it for the cookbook if you still want to.  But i should have known it was too good for me to have been the first to think of it.  :(

Well, you were the first to think of it as a title for this cookbook.  Since there will be a total of 12 copies of this cookbook in print and I will not receive a red cent for it, I'm really not concerned about using a title that's already been used for something else.

Maybe Christopher Meloni is walking down your street DR ELMORE.

I see him all the time.  I think he lives in the area, as do Mandy Patinkin, Cynthia Nixon, Kevin Bacon, Kevin Kline, Stiller and Meara, Anne Jackson and Eli Wallach, and others, including my late friend Barnard Hughes and his beautiful wire Helen.  The last time I saw Meloni was in the elevator of the Raines' building; I don't know if they were filming an SVU there, he lives there, or like me he was visiting someone.

Good morning!

Another beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky, crisp, exactly what November should be.

However, I did not receive my newspaper this morning, a rare occurrence. When I called the delivery/circulation line, it was either not answering or busy which leads me to suspect there might have been a press breakdown last night, and the newspaper didn't get printed. I haven't gone to the webite to see if anything is posted there, but that's my next stop after I leave HHW.

I think CALIGULA is the perfect choice for a sleazy movie, but I have a universally hailed film that's my choice:

PULP FICTION.

I felt unclean and nauseous when I walked out of that movie. I supposed that's what Tarantino wanted us to feel, but I just found it ugly, depressing, and discomforting.

I'm up, I'm up - WHY?  I wanted to sleep until nine, but alas, Ye Olde Internal Clock thought otherwise.

Couldn't agree more about Caligula and Salo - two films that made me actually want to take a shower after seeing them - couldn't make it through Salo, I'm afraid, and what's more amazing is that each film has people who think they're works of art - that's more frightening than anything.  To me, if the negatives were burned it would be just fine.

Haven't read many good reviews for the new medical series 3 lbs. which premieres tonight on CBS. Most reviews have mentioned it's an inadequate rip-off of HOUSE, but I am so in awe of Stanley Tucci as an actor that I will have to give it a try.

I was right - for both Caligula and Salo, many cries of "misunderstood masterpiece" for both films at the imdb.

True!

Of course this Thursday they are doing that stupid SUPERSIZE episode promotion.....that has to be one of the dumbest things ever!  I hate it...a show is NOT a sandwich.  Of course it keeps you there a few minutes longer....and into the next program.  TBS learned that 20 years ago when all of their shows were scheduled on the :05!

Mr. Bruce, I wanted to sleep until 8, but my IAC seemed to think a quarter to 7 was an acceptable substitute.

I've mentioned my distasted for this film before but I'll do it again without a rant.

The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover, or whatever it was called, one of the most disgusting, vile pieces of crap ever burned to celluloid (OK, I lied about the rant). I felt dirty after watching that garbage.

That would be "Eyes Wide Shut" for me. At least Sin in the Suburbs is enjoyably cheesy sleaze!

Not counting sleaze I sought out, which generally didn't nauseate me, the movie that comes to mind is THE TIN DRUM, which a lot of people hail as a classic, but I find repulsive.

At 17 (besides learning the truth), I felt sleazed out by the movie MASSACRE AT CENTRAL HIGH.  At the time, it felt almost pornographic in its disregard for morality and human life.  I even wrote a negative review of it for the college paper.  I just didn't get the satire and humor of it.  But I saw it again years later, after having been told by several acquaintances  that I'd underrated it, and I did like it a lot more then, though.

Fellini's Satyricon creeped me out and seemed somewhat grotesque. I just did not like it, but maybe it wasn't really sleazy.

Herschel Gordon Lewis' BLOOD FEAST and 2000 MANIACS were fun sleazy movies, and his film SCUM OF THE EARTH was just, well, sleazy....but sort of fun.

And as Edisaurus mentioned SIN IN THE SUBURBS and THE SWAP AND HOW THEY MAKE IT are a great sleazy double feature.

In NBC's defense, there is a more practical argument for their doing this on Thursday this week. They only have three shows and two hours of air time to fill. SCRUBS isn't scheduled to return to the line-up until next week, so extended editions of the shows are needed to fill the two hour block.

In the case of THE OFFICE, if the outtakes on the season 2 DVD set are any indication, they will have NO problem filling the extra minutes with QUALITY material. There are outtakes on that set that are every bit as funny as what made it on the air.

Ah, yes. The Tin Drum and Eyes Wide Shut are two more repulsive movies, although prentenious and boring can also be applied to Eyes Wide Shut.
