DR MATTH - thanks for the offer.  Since the CC issue has been resolved, I ordered the vocal selections book for BYE BYE BIRDIE from Amazon.  It was a nice price, and I like several of the songs.

I am surprised I don't own it already!

We have finished with our volunteering (over 2900 bags this year). Here is a picture of some of us at Toys 'R Us as we wait to pick up 1000 stuffed animals for children.

Great pic, DRBEN!  Great cause!  ;D

I think we need to start seeing pictures of the Christmas trees of the DR's.  I think have only seen the picture from DR GINNY....

More trees!

And now, since we have our days free to play, we are about to leave (it's a gorgeous, beautiful day in NYC, well into the 50s) and play in Manhattan. We will see Macy's windows, Lord & Taylor's windows, the tree at Lincoln Center and an exhibit at the NYPL for Performing Arts.

Laters!

P.S. I doubt that Edisaurus has deserted us, I think she's just busy. Don't know that for a fact, just surmising on my part.

And the word of the day is: TEMERARIOUS!
Casey would waltz
With a strawberry blonde
Whose strapless gown had the TEMERARIOUS tendency
To slip!

As I went walking in LA near my hotel I saw a man in his gay apparel
Interesting.  I thought hot cross buns were more of an Easter dish!

RE: last night's MEDIUM.

It sort of ending in a weird way to me. Like i was waiting for a couple more scenes. Will this be continued?  To me it was not resolved.

No, I think it was resolved as far as this episode is concerned, but I suspect we'll see this character again. MEDIUM is known for taking interesting characters and recycling them once or twice a season. Besides that 19th century butcher doctor, we see her brother from time to time, and that Texas policeman from the pilot has turned up in other episodes (and is turning up again soon, I read the other day).

I used to have a Temerarius convertible, but the gas mileage was so bad, I had to trade it in.  Wasn't much on trunk space either, not with all the junk I have. :)

Good morning!

It was very foggy when I went out to get the newspaper at 8:30 (finally, a long night's sleep), and the fog is still with us. Supposed to be skirting 70 for the next five days or so. SOme December!

Most shows are in reruns tonight, but there is an hour of THE OFFICE plus new episodes of SCRUBS and 30 ROCK, so I'll be watching them "live."

No tree in our house.  Five dogs make having a tree, well, problematic.  We tried it once, pre-Fletcher, and the pack managed to make all sorts of trouble, pulling down ornaments and such.  If Fletcher found a tree in the house, he'd be sure to try to climb it!!!

Xmas music:  We have a tradition every time we decorate our Christmas tree...which happened last night...to play Gene Pitney's Greatest Hits (don't ask how it got started) and the original cast album of SHE LOVES ME!  Neither are traditionally Christmas, of course...but they're Cristmas to me.

I'm lean toward the traditional in Christmas music.  Der Bingle is always great.  Rosemary Clooney.  Sinatra.  I also like my Elvis Christmas album.  And I have a couple by cowboy singer, Michael Martin Murphy that are really great...where he plays more obscure Christmas carols and songs that are generally heard.

I also like choral pieces and Irish Christmas music.

Most current Christmas music by pop-chart or rock musicians (so-called) of the last twenty/twenty-fve years I have absolutely no use for at all.

TOD -

The New Christy Minstrels' "Sing Hosanna, Hallelujah!"
From the United Methodist Hymnal:  "Come Thou, Long-Expected Jesus" and "Once in Royal David's City"
Two Christmas songs that are not my favorites, but I like these versions:  Canadian Brass' "Twelve Days of Christmas" and Cincinnati Pops' "The Little Drummer Boy," with elements of "Bolero" mixed in.

Entire albums that I particularly like:

The New Christy Minstrels' Merry Christmas! (but not their Christmas with the Christys  :P)
Cincinnati Pops' Christmastime is Here and Christmas with the Pops
BK's Broadway Christmas and Hollywood Christmas
DR Elmore's compilation
As background music for parties, I like Kenny G's holiday albums

I like to listen to the Plaid's Christmas album, but I wish that BK had produced it. I could listen to David Engel sing "Let it Snow" all day.
