Monkees:

I transferred a Davy Jones LP to CD only a few days ago.

Mike Nesmith was the one with the talent.  His solo work was (is) excellent.

Jukebox -- Some great pop songs by Neil Diamond and Boyce & Hart.

Annette was in "Monkey's Uncle".  (Just an attempt to get JRand to read a post).

Major Lance thought it was Monkey time. So did George Michael.

Monkey in the morning
Monkey in the evening
Monkey at supper time
Be my little Monkey
And love me all the time.

Monkey time, monkey time, monkey time!

It's a rather bleak day in Oakland C-A...today.

Don't know what the weather is up to, actually.

I don't believe "strew" or "strewn" have ever been part of song lyric or song title.

Isn't it used in Kern's wonderful "Poor Pierrot"?

I looked at the song.
I was wrong.

I was told they closed!

DR Elmore, I think not long ago it was announced that The Meadows would no longer serve lunch.  We have a 7pm dinner reservation there, so we'll let you know.

Hum a bit of it, will you, Tom?  I'm totally not familiar with the tune.

We have had no garbage pickup at our complex in over a week.  We may soon revive "the Aroma of Tacoma."

My grandmother used to sing it to me in the cradle, so I am a little bit fuzzy as to the tune.

I understand there is a new DVD set coming out next month titled, THE BEST OF PASSIONS.  It contains six blank disks.

LOL TCB!!

Now if Days would release one of their classic storylines in DVD I might be interested, namely the Stockholm storyline or Cruise of Deception.

Heading down now to tidy up a few things and maybe read a bit before getting back in the TV swing of things.

This just in from VARIETY:

"NBC has renewed "The Office," "My Name Is Earl," "Heroes" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" for the 2007-08 season."

These are the first shows on any network that have been given the official go-ahead for next season. I'm sure the other networks will be following suit with their hits in the next few weeks.

Glad to see Heroes back!

Were the Monkees the poor American version of the BEatles?

Frank Cromit's "Song Of the Prune" may have used strewn as a rhyme. I'm too lazy to check.

Happy Birthday to Noel. (Who of course may indeed be lurking as others do!)

Re: "American Idol"...and particularly to respond to DRs Jennifer and TPunk regarding Matt Sato, the 16-year-old whose parents weren't there, I offer this contestant-by-contestant rundown on everyone on the "Minneapolis" show.

And yes...apparently Matt's parents didn't come because they don't support his singing ventures due to much money already having been spent on same.

TomovOz speaks truth...not poor American version of anything.

The Beatles spawned unending groups of mopheads doing the Carnaby beat, etc, etc.  In America, in England, everywhere.

The Monkees were put together for a TV Show...pre-packaged as TomovOz said, just like The Partridge Family was....only The Monkees really did their own singing...and went on tour...and cut albums...and had hit songs/albums.
