I began my afternoon by finishing PRESENTING LILY MARS. Nice to see the whole movie, and the print they used for the transfer was in reasonably good shape, so it looked fine. I think some of Judy's other B&W movies on DVD (FOR ME AND MY GAL and ZIEGFELD GIRL) look better.

Next I watched CHARLIE CHAN AT THE RACE TRACK. ANother CHan which I had never seen, and I didn't guess the murderer's identity. Good mystery, and this transfer is the best CHAN I've seen.

Iguana's Stubborn Erection to Get the Chop

ANTWERP, Belgium (Jan. 25) - Mozart, an iguana with an erection that has lasted for over a week, will have his penis amputated in the next couple of days.

Veterinarians at Antwerp's Aquatopia had sought to treat the animal's problem, but decided removal was the only solution because of the risk of infection. The good news for Mozart and his mates is that male iguanas have two penises.

Thank god for spare parts!

Are you sure it was a "he" who said that?  I thought I read where Brittany said that to Paris as they stumbled out of the elevator into the hotel lobby .. or was it out of a car onto the street?

Yes, I can assure you it was a "he".

Next, I watched the Men's long program at the national championships. I knew who had won and who had skated well or poorly, so none of that was a surprise.

What was a surprise was that two of our finest male skaters weren't there: Ryan Jahnke and Matt Savoie. I didn't read anything about their retiring from amateur skating, so when I saw the group of guys who were among the top tier, I was shocked at how many I was unfamiliar with (and after I saw them skate, I was not surprised they were unknown - terrible).

Lysechek was brilliant unquestionably. I've never seen him skate with that much flair or passion, and he richly deserved his score and the gold. Ryan Bradley has always been a showman, and I was pleased to see him not fall apart on his jumps. Johnny Weir is coming off an injury that took him out of the Grand Prix finals, and I didn't hear any of the commentators talking about that. Not making excuses for him; he skated a lackluster short and long program, but usually with other skaters, when there are physical problems, the excuses are offered up ad nauseum. Not with Johnny. I have a feeling he's alienated some folks out there.

I finished the afternoon watching an interview with the creator and stars of THE SHIELD on the Fox Movie Channel. The decision at the end of last year to kill off one of their most popular characters was discussed in great detail, and how wonderful to hear how the decision upset so many of the actors losing a dear fellow actor whom they all admired so much.

Karen - I assume you realize it's exactly 30 posts to a page, right?   Hence, reply #30 will start a page, as will #60, #90.

Or was that an HHW secret?

I've been asking for my HHW member packet ever since I hit junior member status -- which I assume would include the HHW Rule Book -- but nothing in ye ol' mail box so far -- so I'm just winging it ...

Has there only been one song written for a commercial that has actually become a hit?  I know they tried a second time with a song called It Won't Hurt To Try It (It's Not Gonna Hurt Anymore) which had two versions, one sung by my old pal, Mr. Michael Burns.  That song was written for a Clearasil commercial.  Is that how to spell Clearasil?  It doesn't look right.  I have the 45 for It Won't Hurt To Try It buried deep in storage.

Wasn't I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing written for Coke before it was a hit?

I am addicted to the store closing sale at Younkers dept store.  I mean doesn't everyone need a Pie Bird? I got tons of great stuff today. I had to use a double stroller to get it all (they don't have shopping carts)

What a wonderful Sunday...comfort food of broasted chicken, mased potatoes and gravy...yum...then 2 hours shopping.Yikes! I hate to shop, but this sale has got me. I am not the proud owner of a Rachael Ray fajita pan.  Hey, it was 60% off!  Actually I got a number of gifts for future birthdays and an iPod docking station. At 60% off, it was a deal

Is it this one: Salaam E Ishq: A Tribute to Loveder Brucer

Yes, that is the one the opens next week!

Oh, well, some of my favorite movies got reviews like that! LOL!

And besides even if the plot is tired, I don't think I would have any problem paying to see these three actors on screen...all in the same movie.

John Abraham.....

Salman Khan....

and Akshaye Khanna....
