Is it a Chris that belongs to Ruth, when they say Ruth's Chris?

I just got kicked off.  I was going to have steak tonight, but I just wasn't hungry enough for it.  So I put it in the freezer and will have it another day

I was having a discussion with someone about the french expression C'est la Vie today, and while researching french expressions I found this fun and clever article--

I did have what my mother now uses as a substitute for popcorn (she has diverticulitis) Cheerios heated with butter and salt.  It's actually not too bad

She can't have popcorn because of the kernals....I won't go into more details than that...

We had a lovely day, how could we not when the temps reached 60 degrees this afternoon.  The ice on the pond finally melted and a pair of Mallards settled in.   Keith joined Sherlock and I on a hike, it was nice having his company.

I'm off to join my guys & watch something.

'night

So, who here will be watching the Super Bowl?  Who here will be watching the Grease rerun?  Who here will be dancing in their pantaloons?

I just got home from birthday festivities out of town with Greg's parents and visiting two of my Turner clients. Now I have on Puppy Bowl III on Animal Planet. It's half-time and the kitties are eating tinsel. That's making me a little nervous.

Even thought I'm a cat person, I have to say that the Puppy Bowl is much more entertaining than the kitties half-time.

I love eggs benedict - I had them yesterday at the Broadway Deli, where they were decidedly mediocre.  Best Eggs Benedict ever was at the late great Ollie Hammond's on La Cienega, followed by the late great Nickodell's.  I haven't had great Eggs Benedict in a 'coon's age.

I love eggs florentine...basically the same thing except substituting spinach for canadian bacon. DuPar's used to be my favorite but now it's the French bakery near my house, which used panini bread and the most perfect poached eggs. Decadent!

JRand:
Favorite Stooges routine was the alphabet song. B A bay, B E bee, B I Bicky By B O Bo, etc.  I think they were working a car wash while singing that tune.

I remember this song from one of my favorite movies: "The Forbidden Zone".

Thanks so much, DR ELMORE, for the book recommendations. I'll look into them. I didn't realize that Aaron Copland was also an author.

Best of luck with your dad, too. I do hope it goes as well as possible.

Thank you, too, DR GINNY, for the Mozart's Women suggestion. It sounds like an interesting book. I'll look into that, as well.

I began my afternoon viewing with THE NEXT BEST THING. Despite Madonna's astonishing non-performance, I still find much of the film involving. And many in the supporting cast went on to have flourishing careers of their own: Neil Patrick Harris, Mark Valley, Michael Vartan.

I saw Neal Patrick Harris in Cabaret and thought he was very good. And I love Michael Vartan---he played Lancelot in our TNT "Mists of Avalon". He's so yummy.

Superbowl watching is fun when you watch it with friends and eat chicken wings, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and dip and cake and ice cream.

I looked at the Angele Dubeau recording; it looks like excerpts from pieces I know and don't know.  It doesn't look like something I'd like, but if it directs to you look into the full compositions, then it has my support.

I particularly like the Francois Dompierre's Le Diable matou. I believe Dompierre scored a Claude Chabol (sp?) film. Dubeau and Dompierre are French Canadians, out of Montreal (one of my favorite cities).

Tune in the Super Bowl, DR Jose - no brain strain there.

Tune in to the Puppy Bowl. Even less strain!
