Happy New Year!! I worked THE MERRY WIDOW tonight at the Met and then my friend, Jennifer, and I walked down to Times Square for the dropping of the ball. We could only get to 43rd and 8th, so we couldn't see much, but I got a couple of pictures and I called my parents at midnight and basically yelled at them, "I'm in Times Square right now! Happy New Year, I love you! I can't hear you! Bye!" and hung up.

It sounds like a dreadful place to be, and totally insane to go there, but there's an indescribable energy when you're part of a crowd that large, and it was actually quite fun. I will say, had they not searched people and prevented everyone from bringing things with them, I would not have felt safe at all, so I say good for them for taking some control over the situation. It put my mind at ease and, thank God, nothing happened.
Now, I have lots of pictures of things for people, and I'm trying to make them as small as possible so they don't take up too much space. Here's the first one...it's for TCB (much to my chagrin)...
