Speaking of which, I got ripped at work today.

Different kind of ripped.  My pants have a three-inch gash right about mid-thigh.  Fortunately, it's at the same level as the pocket.  Still, can't say I like losing a pair of work pants like this.

Der B thinks he might be able to patch them.

Check your store's policy.  At most of the places I've worked, if you've damaged your clothing on the job, you can be compensated.
