The first time I became aware of Whittaker was in a film with Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn -- '*...batteries not included."  He was darned good in it, too.

Another Part of DeForrest was of course the episode of Star Trek written by Lillian Hellman.

I am writing a screenplay called THE NUMBER 58. It is about how that number rarely comes up at all in life.

That one is too obscure even for my mad mind.

58 is always the answer to "I'm thinking of a whole number between 57 and 59," though.

Remember sometimes in 2006, ending an evening with 6 pages of posts? Seems preposterous on an evening like this one.

Astoundingly so. Another curiosity is that it is the absolute value of –58.

Think on that one for awhile!

Ron Pulliam, WATER was in Hindi...it was sort of a Canadian/Indian co-production.

I had prayed for February to be a record month for HHW postings.  It does work, apparently.

It's a dismal year for U.S. moviemaking, apparently.

But a great year for American Film making.

Pogue, you have been sorely missed, or missed sorely, whichever applies.  We know you're in rehearsal, but you must stop by occasionally and give us updates.  I'm sure you've read all fifty-eight pages of posts, yes?  And the other 2000 you've missed, yes?

I am going to plant a message here on page 58 to see if anyone not on tonight actually reads this far.

Hi, Dear HHW Reader!
Congratulations on making it all the way to page 58 of the Oscar Night posts.
If you read this post, email FJL at 3pm on Monday, and he will be obliged to send you a crisp one dollar bill.

And with this post we achieve our new highest posting month since the advent of this board and the history of haineshisway.com, which has been going strong since November of 2001.

I happened to see on a fellow's blog, a fellow who took as his inspiration (he would never admit it, but it's quite true) this here site and my daily notes, who was BRAGGING, and I mean BRAGGING how in the history of his "blog" (I think it's been going for around two years now, but maybe less) how he's now had 500,000 hits.  We've achieved over 100,000 hits six times, for 600,000 hits.  That's six times in five years - if we added all the hits over that period of time, it would be close to four million, maybe a bit more.   That's something worth bragging about for a little upstart site such as ours.
