LOST had a Hurley-based episode, and they're always interesting, both modern day and backstory. Really enjoyed the show tonight.

I value the Papermill for its near completeness (there are some cuts in "Loveland," and I think the  mix is poor in a few spots.  I was at the Folllies in concert event, but it wasn't FOLLIES for me: too upbeat, too many adjustments to the score to accommodate stars, and I thought Mandy Patinkin's ego way over the top in "Buddy's Blues."  When Barbara Cook, at the end of the evening, said "I'm so glad I came," I thought, this ain't the FOLLIES I love.  Sally is truly unhinged at the end, and the conclusion of the show should be unsettling and melancholic.  Why do you think so many hated the original with such vehemence?

I feel the same about FOLLIES in Concert.  Also, like DR Matt, I dislike Stritch's rendition of "Broadway Baby".  The song became a in-joke, sung with a wink to the crowd.  She didn't do right by it until she sang it in AT LIBERTY.  And Carol Burnett's "I'm Still Here" was flat and vacant.

And while I appreciated the effort of the Papermill Playhouse recording, none of the performances were memorable with the exception of Ann Miller, and that was just because of her strange delivery.

Since I need to watch THE BURMESE HARP at some point tomorrow, I'm relieved that the ratings sweeps month ended tonight. Tomorrow night, other than IDOL results, 30 ROCK and SCRUBS, we've got a night of reruns, so that should give me plenty of time to get that Criterion DVD watched.

Cilla - Any thoughts on a dinner place for tomorrow night?  Somewhere near the theater, i hope?

I will leave that up to you. I'm up for about any kind of food.  Well, we had Mexican tonight, so anything else would be good.  I agree on someplace close

Boy is it warm in this room. I actually had to turn on the fan on the ac to cool it off a little.  I think I found the knob on the heat, but we'll see.  The bathroom is REALLY warm. Like a sauna. I kind of like that

Janis Ian was lip synching a song here on  TV and her guitar string broke. It was a funny moment! Boy she really tied one on.

Where is resident Janis Ian expert td?

Lipps Inc has destroyed ability to spell lips Synch.

Cilla - Do you have your ticket already, or do you have to pick it up at the theater?  Either way, maybe we could all meet at the Hirschfeld theater at maybe 6:15 and find a convenient place from there.  Unless you prefer to have a reservation somewhere?

In case Miss Karen was offended by something, I won't say:  Didn't Lipps Inc do Bookeytown?

Perhaps DR Cason could audition for Camelot as a boo-key Knight.

DR Larua, I apologize for being flip when you first mentioned what happened--I didn't realize that how intense an event this turned out to be.

I'd pay to see him as Lancelot! :D
