Convenient you didn't have to go do it in person.  Did you watch the police take him away?  I think my stomach would still be hurting & I would be having nightmares.

No. They evacuated all the motor homes, then they led us all to another building next door which happened to have folks inside. We heard nothing and saw nothing after that. Once in a while, a young pfficer would come in and give us an update. Usually the update was that nothing had happened.

And exactly when was it that all the police officers became young enough to be my own son?

LOL-Young they might be, but it sounds as if they did a good job making sure you were safe.

Yes. They quietly evacuated everyone in the motor homes, then they moved us to the other building before they let him know they were there. Then it was a few hours before they convinced him to surrender.

Good Afternoon!

Ah, Progress.  I hope.

Instead of heading out into the glorious sunshine, I just made a second pass through the eight "boxes-o-stuff" I made an initial pass through yesterday.  Now I'm down to two boxes of music xeroxes, and just four b-o-s.  -And one bag for recycling, and one bag for the trash.

HOO and RAY!

And one b-o-s is a box of books I'll probably end up taking down to the buyer's counter at Strand Books.

Yes, there are lots of slips of papers (old bills, receipts, etc.) that will need a bit more scrutiny, but, for now, I think it was a good way to get things started.

And I didn't get that overwhelming feeling like I did last week.

-And only 30 more boxes to go!  :-\

DR JOSE, I think your approach is a good one. I know how overwhelming it can be. I always like to get through the easy stuff first, so I can see progress right away. That always feels good and then the momentum starts to build. Once I get on a roll it's easier.

On Sunday I was going through some books from college-ugh! yes! I do have difficulty throwing out books. But now I'm past that hurdle and it's just easier somehow. The other day a friend, who buys even more books than I do, said, "But how can you throw out BOOKS???" But I am! For me, books are the most difficult of all.

Happy tossing!

No kidding? I didn't see it in our news reports. They are still buzzing about the Oscar fashions here.

I told you about that. The Bucket Chase Gang dug up a plastic triceratops.

I bought some Slinkies yesterday. DB (Dear Bloogie) and I are going to bury them on the playground on Saturday.

Finished the movie, now shall start on another.

While I'd like to think we might make it to the new "hits" record, I don't think it will happen by midnight.  It's just moving too slowly.  If there were even one more day in this month it would have been easy.  But, we've smashed every other record to smithereens.  Of course, anything's possible in the next four hours.

Hey, you're among friends, so post away...

Dear BK and other Dear Readers,

What are your feelings regarding toe socks? What about the practice of wearing socks with sandals? Do you prefer plain all-one-color socks or socks with patterns, stripes, and so on?

And why am I thinking about socks all of a sudden?

DR SANDRA, I am a sock lover. I did not, however, learn to appreciate socks until I came to the East Coast. California just isn't sock country. I do not, however, wear socks with sandals. It gets too freakin' hot here for that! Favorite socks are soft and cuddly and warm.

What's with these folks who do multiple posts just for the sake of multiple posts and the numbers game -- and then feel no sense of shame?

I'm so ashamed. I did not read any but the last half dozen pages from the Oscars day. It was not a hit day for me.  It was a miss day.  (No reference to Ms Doris Day intended_
