So it is written, so it shall be done - page fourteen.  Not too shabby a way to welcome March.

Glad to hear of the changes - are any of the songs different or is it just rewritten lyrics?

I Miss The Music is quite a bit different if my memory serves me correctly.  Not only the lyrics have been changed, but it seems to have been expanded and the context of the song seems slightly different all in a good way.

There is a slight reprise of Show People that isn't in the playbill and probably isn't long enough to be listed as a song.  I understand there are other changes in the works with at least one song, but I don't know which one. There were a couple songs in the second act that may not have been changed much if at all  but the order was switched and it flows much better this way

I think they fixed some of the "all over the place" issues you were talking about. There is probably a little less exposition, but they've also added a little here and there so some things are clearer.  You have to remember I saw previews in L.A. So some of these changes could have been made there, but I know it's still evolving and it's a fascinating thing for me to watch.

Good Morning!

Well... That was one looooooong ride home on the A-train.  Due to all the track work at Columbus Circle, the train cme into the station very slowly... And left very slowly.  There was another guy waiting next to me on the platform, and we both commented that should just go ahead and open the doors while the train was moving since it would have basically been like stepping on an escalator - or like stepping into one of those revolving restaurants like "The View".  Thankfully, once we were past 72nd Street, the train was back up to speed.  But, man was it slow at 59th.

As for Curtains... I enjoyed it too.  There were some very "in" theatre jokes - some which may end up being too "in" for some people - but they gave me a good laugh.  -While the woman in front of me would lean over to her friend, "Why was that funny?"  In any case...

There are some good numbers, and there are some not so good numbers.  The cast is uniformly excellent, although I think there's one very, very, very slight case of miscasting, but that may even itself out as more changes and refinements get instituted over the next couple of weeks.  The band sounds great, and there was only one point in the show where the orchestration popped out at me (in a not so good way) - but that may have also been a sound balance issue, so...

-And I've always had an issue with choreographed curtain calls...  Let the cast bask in the applause, and not worry about counts and steps, I say.

It was great following the Great DR elmore backstage afterwards to chat with the cast.  -And anyone he didn't know, I seemed to, so that was fun too.

All in all, a lovely evening.

And, yes, the rain has come to NYC.  It's been ebbing and flowing all night.  It sounded like another downpour just came and went.  -Alas, when it rains continuously, I think I'm hearing water drip in the walls here at the apartment.  We used to have a leak in one of the bathrooms here, and I always expect water to start dripping from the kitchen vent.  -But that's probably just the sound coming down from the exhaust pipe on the roof.  I hope.

DR JRand - I believe it was you who asked about the new M&M's World New York.  I thought the store itself had its own website, but I can't seem to track it down.  -Nor an old receipt with the info.  In the meantime...

OK...  Well, I'm going to head to bed, and, hopefully, I won't wake up disturbed again in the morning.

Goodnight.
