As for Curtains... I enjoyed it too. There were some very "in" theatre jokes - some which may end up being too "in" for some people - but they gave me a good laugh. -While the woman in front of me would lean over to her friend, "Why was that funny?" In any case...
There are some good numbers, and there are some not so good numbers. The cast is uniformly excellent, although I think there's one very, very, very slight case of miscasting, but that may even itself out as more changes and refinements get instituted over the next couple of weeks. The band sounds great, and there was only one point in the show where the orchestration popped out at me (in a not so good way) - but that may have also been a sound balance issue, so...
-And I've always had an issue with choreographed curtain calls... Let the cast bask in the applause, and not worry about counts and steps, I say.
It was great following the Great DR elmore backstage afterwards to chat with the cast. -And anyone he didn't know, I seemed to, so that was fun too.
All in all, a lovely evening.
