Pssst--DR Jose--today is John Kander's 80th birthday!

Well... We had actually planned to have a small celebration for him today here at the rehearsal hall, but, alas, he's off attending to other matters today.  So... Tuesday it shall be.

Grease is on tonight and "America" will have to decide.  Is "America" up to this great responsibility?

Does it include black mens boxer shorts?

No.  But it does include a MetroCard, a Whole Foods Gift Card, and a $20 bill. -His "mad cash", and part of the contents of his wallet are also locked in the apartment. Still. :-\  *He had just run out for coffee one morning last week, and when he came back 15 minutes later, he found out he was locked out.

Does America care?

*Although, I would like to hear some actual numbers at some point.  It would "interesting" to see - if like "American Idol" - more people end up voting for Danny and Sandy than the U.S. President.

My back is so sore from weeding and doing yard work yesterday...I can barely move about! Am I getting old or something? I had better check and make sure that portrait is still in the attic.

Sounds like you need a back-rub...

And interestingly enough, Nick Dalton (who made it to "Grease Academy", but not the final 12) is working the reception desk here today.  We've been talking... It's been quite an interesting conversation to say the least.

Several weeks ago, I reported in this forum that I had spent a pleasant couple of hours watching, on my then-new plasma HDTV, "South Pacific" and was totally blown away by the restoration, the colors, the sound, everything.

What I later realized, much to my chagrin, was that what I had watched was the familiar "theatrical cut" of the film...the one most everyone has seen over the past 49 years.

Last night (starting in late afternoon, actually) I popped in the "restored roadshow version" and spent the next 5 hours wallowing in stunned joy (and, at the end, outrage when I listened to the worst commentary tracks imaginable).

At any rate, if anyone is interested, here are my observations about:

Actually, I believe the slogan is:

I GOT THE SHAFT AT GREASE ACADEMY

with

"I'm not the one that you wanted"
on the reverse.

I have to say, that's certainly quite the lively "discussion".

That does sounds very good. I have never understood why anyone would continue to deny the holocaust when there is so much photographic evidence, and nothing that you could have staged.

Hey - the Flat-Earthers believe all the NASA stuff was staged. Arthur Clarke wrote the script for the Apollo Program.

I'm sure there is suspicion the Michael Moore wrote the script for the Holocaust myths.

As long as you are willing to believe that all the powers-that-be can fabricate whatever they please and that all science is manufactured hokum, then denial of anything is possible.

Does it include black mens boxer shorts?

I understand a documentarian heard about some dog lovers at Howard University and went there to shoot some footage.

He has asked Edisaurus to edit the material into 10 minute segments which he shall run as "Black Men's Boxer Shorts" and "Back Girl's Poodle Cuts".

I totally get that- some day I'd love to have an in home gym or at least one in my luxury high rise apartment building  ;). I actually started a new workout routine about 2 months ago. I only go twice a week but I do close to an hour of cardio and then another hour of stretching and weight training. A friend of mine showed me three different workouts targetting different muscle groups and I alternate.  It's the first time that I've ever known what I'm doing while lifting and since I've seen such tremendous results already, it's not hard to keep motivated to go.

DR TPUNK,
Your workout sounds wonderful! Like DR MATTH, I've been working out at home for the last several years, although not so faithfully this past year. It's a big help time-wise; in the amount of time it would take me to drive to the gym and back I can do a work-out. You don't get the commaraderie, of course. But it is convenient.

I finished the chapter I was on, then finished watching a motion picture on DVD, then smoothed a few things out is said chapter, and am now printing out the pages, which I'll then get Xeroxed and delivered to muse Margaret.

If I did my workouts at a gym away from home, I'd probably never go, and I'd weigh 300 pounds. Luckily for me, I have the space here to have a weight machine and a treadmill so I can exercise here without having to get in the car and drive some place. With the equipment here, there's just NO excuse for me not to use it.

Oh?  Give me 5 minutes and I'll come up with a dozen excuses!

DER BRUCER,
I loved your joke yesterday about "the Czech is in the male." I have a t-shirt that says "Czech It Out," but had never heard the "Czech is in the male" joke.
