I agree with Jose about the overall IDOL show tonight. Extremely enjoyable, and it's because the British invasion of the 1960s featured songs WITH MELODIES and standard rhythms that are singable and listenable.

IDOL's worst shows have always been when music of the 1990s and 2000s are featured. Let's face it: in pop music, there has not been a lot of memorable stuff there.

DR Edi, did you make it home ok?  Did you figure out what the person was whooping about?

I'm hoome now. That was creepy.

The edit place is located in a popular hooker area so there's a lot of weirdness there, especially now that the building across the parking lot is abandoned and lots of homeless people are living in it. It will soon be torn down to make room for more new lofts.

I try to be cautious working over there, and that is why my DH will come there when he can to see me to my car.Within a 1 mil e radius of there, a dear friend, Merchant-Ivory's editor, who introduced me to Greg and is our "little brother" was mugged by people with a lead pipe while walking down the street near his home. He had Bell's Palsy for a year and has never regained all of his hearing. (He should be at the NY screening Friday.)

Another friend who schedules us for jobs, lived a block from my editor friend and was raped at knifepoint in her home.

Two other co-workers were heldup at gunpoint at nearby stores.

But today I got an email telling me that 9 different women in Buckhead, the most expensive part of town, were robbed in parking lots at gunpoint in the middle of the day by men trying to steal their rings. And the gas station next to our new house in Buckhead was robbed this morning and the clerk was shot. So I guess nowhere is really safe.

Gosh---I hope this doesn't scare you, Cillaliz. When I am in new surroundings, I take it for granted that they are safe because they seem OK and I don't know the history. But it's good to be aware.

Happy birthday, DR Rodzinski!

Not much happened at preschool today. We learned the letter T.

The Bloog and I were at the library and some lady overheard me say, "Jane Austen is funnier than Jesus." She probably thinks I'm crazy.

Apparently, the official cosmic alignment, having to do with the start of Spring, has caused all sorts of angst, hubris, a tsimis or 2, and general gnashing of teeth for more than one hainsie and kimlet today.

And even including the glorious and Grande Kimmel Kimlet hisself !

Peace and serenity are sent to all who had travails today.

I'm gonna fall over shortly, so nighty night lovelies.

The comedy of errors continues even at this hour.  The woman from DHL who had promised me it would be here today no matter what, called at 8:45 to say that the driver had returned with the package and that I'd have it by 9:15 - she confirmed the address, I told her the cross streets, etc.  Well, here we are at ten - no package.  So, I call DHL - log onto amazon to get the tracking number and the package now shows as "Delivered" in Valley Village (where my mail place is) - it shows as "Delivered at 8:34", ten minutes before this woman called me.

Well, it just showed up - this completely surly driver sauntered up and gave me the package - I had to bite my tongue.

I have been trying to set up internet for my mother for over an hour now. An easy thing to do, except for the fact that we didn't know what we were doing, and she continues to doubt my abilities and stop me from doing the right things.
