BK - I don't have a question, but wanted to say Welcome to Road Runner.  Hope you like it as much as we do!

My Question for Today for anyone:  What is Road Runner?

OK.  Talking streaming sound recording software - does anyone have any suggestions for a preferred product?

I want to record the Wall-to-Wall Sondheim rebroadcast from XM  off my computer this coming Saturday.  I recorded the original broadcast 2 years ago, but the resulting sound quality was rather disappointing.  Just wondering what software products other DRs use.  Intuitiveness/ease of use always a plus!

Thanks!   :) :)

I'm hoping to record this also.  I'll need to take some things off of my hard drive first, to make room.  I have an 80 GB hard drive with only about 15 GBs left. ::)

I was e & t yesterday because I had a stress test yesterday morning, spent the afternoon having my eyes looked at and then purchasing new glasses and then a dinner party with friends.  By the time I got home at 9:30 last night, I was wiped out completely.

And I received a phone call shortly before lunch today from the testing center--I passed my stress test (and my echo cardiogram) with flying colors!  I'll learn more about what this exactly means on my next visit with my cardiologist, but it sounds like good news to me!

Congratulations, Dan (the Man)!!

DR George - Road Runner is the high-speed internet access service that's available in Time Warner Cable areas.  We've been on it for several years and would never go back to dial-up!

Hello, HHW!

I'm still catching up on posts, but want to thank DR RON for his words yesterday about DVDs with multiple scores.

Also, sorry to hear so many H/Ks had such a bad day yesterday. If it's any consolation, I have been having the same!

Must tend to some other business. Will try to be back later.

Good Afternoon!

I can die a happy Flapapino now...

I just finished playing an emergency set of auditions for our show.  We saw six people, and they all brought in some fun and challenging music to play: "Rain" (Once On This Island), "Coalhouse's Soliloquy" (Ragtime), "Push Da' Button" (Jamaica), etc., etc...

After we were done, John Kander came up to me, took both my hands in his, and said, "Good job!".

That sooooo totally made my day!  Well, year...  Heck, career.  *Now I just need to figure out to put that on my resume.  ;)

Sorry to ruin the mood, but at the moment, I have on a gray sweatshirt, some black pajama pants, and white socks.  But then again, I did just wake up about 20 minutes ago...

Hmm... I don't think you ruined the mood.  In fact, I think you just "informed" it.

My Question for Today for anyone:  What is Road Runner?

....And whenever you come across someone with an "rr" in their e-mail adress (such as nyc.rr.com) that usually means they're a RoadRunner account.

As for the Sondheim reissues... I plan to make a run to Virgin on the way home, and check them out.  As I mentioned before, the only one I really sort of want is Into the Woods, since it has Maureen Moore singing "Boom Crunch".  Otherwise, I'm happy with the original issues.

But I had also heard reports of them being done on the cheap - and since they are being released at   mid-line prices...  We shall see.

Back from a fun lunch meeting - we start on Alet's show in earnest in two weeks.  CDs are on their way so I guess I'll be able to get out the rest of the packages today.

I've had my fill of reissues.  I think I have--what?--three versions of the A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC OCR.

Until they start coming out with reissues that present the original performances in your living room through holograms, I'm done with them.

Likewise on the pat on the back from Kander (not to mention the business card deal with St. Louis!)

I began my afternoon with last night's BOSTON LEGAL. A very surprising ending to the Megan Mullally storyline that I did not see coming. Constance Zimmer's storyline was also of some interest. Pretty good show and less silly than it sometimes is.

Today was Rosie O'Donnell's 45th birthday, and to celebrate it on THE VIEW, they featured performances from three Broadway shows since she is such a fan of Broadway: LES MIZ, THE COLOR PURPLE, and A CHORUS LINE. The latter was my favorite excerpt with the entire company in their gold/platinum costumes doing the "One" finale. Oh, it brought back memories of dancing those steps and trying to sing while being completely out of breath. Thankfully, there were singers off stage on mics helping out.

And I like that THE VIEW is in high def so one got a much better view of the line in A CHORUS LINE.
