My DH has been working at Pike's Peak this week and is supposed to fly home this afternoon. I hope the heavy winds there will let him take off!
BTW, wasn't one of the wind-blown pics you showed earlier, specifically, the one taken in Culver City, the back gate of MGM/SONY? I believe that's the gate on Culver Blvd.
Oh my! Get well soon, you lusty man!
Yes, I feel so philosophical living here! Actually, my stage-name is Jean-Paul Sartre and my hairdresser, Simone de Bavoir, err... de Beauvoir only takes care of what happens ON my head, and not IN! (Good for her!)
You could get rid of that "dirty blond" image!
Good Afternoon!Greetings from the pit of the Westport Country Playhouse... Where, as of a couple of minutes, I will be spending a good chunk of time over the next couple of weeks. I've been asked to play keyboards in the pit for the run of the show. I'll observe in the pit tonight and tomorrow (Opening), and then play Sunday's matinee....And the hits just keep on coming!
DR MBarnum should be developing tendonitis as we speak. Are there any physique studies in the doctor's web bio?
DR TCB - Are you in your right mind from the drugs? Seriously, hope you are not in too much pain.
I am not illegally posting from work this morning (as some might assume), but I am home sick crippled today. My back, which has been bothering me all week, finally decided to go out (without me). At the moment, I am sitting; which is the lesser of all the evils while I wait for the musclerelaxers to kick in, so that I can go back to bed.

And, DER B, are you going to give us the story of the Hooker Emerald? Surely, there must be a story there!
The Jane Hooker EmeraldThe Hooker Emerald weighs about 75 carats, including the 138 diamonds weighing, altogether, about 13 carats. Abdul-Hamid II, one of the last sultans of the Ottoman Empire (which is now Turkey), once owned the Hooker Emerald. It is said that he wore it on his belt buckle. New York's Tiffany & Co. purchased the gem at auction in 1911 and then set it in a tiara. Later, Tiffany's reset the emerald in this brooch. This emerald is unusual for its exceptional size and color and its relative lack of flaws and imperfections is rare for such a large emerald.
Somehow I think it would take a bit more than that.
Yes it was - good eyes!der Brucer
This is usually attributed to Mae West, though I can't find a reference to which film. I believe the original was something like "They used to call me Snow White, but then I drifted..."
Actress Tallulah Bankhead, however, is supposed to have said "I'm as pure as the driven slush."
