In all honesty, I think not. The play is just so weak. I think they will be treated well in the reviews but I don't think the show will go beyond the "limited 18 week run"

How exciting.  I just read that YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is going to have its out of town tryout in Seattle.  Now, if I can just wrangle a ticket!

Thanks to DR ELMORE for the Journey's End report....it is one of my favorite plays since I read it in high school.

And thanks to DR JOSESPIANO for posting that moment from his new musical....lately presented in Wetsport.....

I didn't realize the play was that old.

Good morning, all!  I was heading into the office this morning, but my lower back muscles are so stressed I can hardly move.  I guess it will be a quiet day writing editoral guidelines at the dear old computer,

DR Jose, the finish of JOURNEY'S END met with total silence.  when the curtain rose on the cast in front of the enormous list of war dead, no one did anything.  As soon as the cast took off their helmets, half the audience stood and went crazy.  It's such a powerful ending, you're naturally stunned, but the curtain falls on an indefinite moment.  I'm sure a lot of audience were waiting for a scene to wrap up events.

Much as I like moments in ALL ABOUT US, a problem with the opening "Eat the Ice Cream" number is that it's essentially the same as the final and better Rialto number.  Sabina needs something else at the beginning.

BK, I didn't ever know what were the Pulitzer nominees for play when SUNDAY IN THE PARK won.  I never saw a bit of publicity on any of them, and I know that the sUNDAY IN THE PARK publicity people said nothing till it won. I don't know if Steve and Jim Lapine ever told anyone. I only told people about it after it won, and I really didn't start talking about it publicly until 2000 or so.

Good morning!

Another beautiful morning but sadly the last of the cool ones. We start to heat beack up starting tomorrow. I'll be sitting on my porch and enjoying the fresh air later this morning.

The Pulitzer Prize committee has only started releasing the names of the titles in their final judging within the last decade or so.

Sunday morning greetings!  It is a gloriously beautiful day here in SW Ohio.  I slept late (for me, 7:30) and am enjoying some solitude and putzing time while DH Richard is at church.  He'll call me when he leaves and we'll meet for lunch.

I have made no decisions about what DVDs I'm going to watch today. I do know there will be no James Bond or Doris Day titles watched.

I still have TEXAS CARNIVAL on the DVR, and I want to burn that onto a DVD-R (I don't see a commercial DVD of it arriving any time soon). Other than it, however, I have no titles in mind, so I'll be visiting the to-watch shelf later today to find something.

So looking forward to BROTHERS & SISTERS tonight as angst between two of the couples on the show reaches a breaking point.

Im really looking forward to the new Tyrone Power DVD set that comes out this week. I'm hoping Fox does the Technicolor titles justice. The last time I watched CAPTAIN FROM CASTILLE on the Fox Movie Channel, it looked very nice. Hopefully, the DVD will mirror or even improve on that broadcast.

DR MAtt H

I watch the Ghost Whisper the other night for the first time. There was no "To Be Continued" But they advertised the final 3(?) episodes as the conclusion to the episode (and the series?)

DR Jose

Regarding the photo you posted yesterday that you wanted us to guess who. Don't name the photo with the actual name as it shows up. Since I didn't see anyone post an answer......

It was the van driver.

Well, since some of the other DRs have been querying about the "hunky van driver" I had mentioned in my posts, I could have named the pic "VanDriver" or "SpittoonCleaner".  As the French would say, "Ce ne fait rien."

And I believe the French, well at least DR François, posted his (correct) guess last night.

I didn't think I saw one, and since I almost never watch previews for the next episode, I didn't see that either. Thanks for the info.

GHOST WHISPERER is one of the shows "on the bubble" of renewal/cancellation, but I'd be VERY surprised if CBS took it off. It consistently wins its time slot, and I think its tone and storytelling are great for Friday night.

Well, I think I'm headng down now to get some of that fresh air on the side porch and read a bit. Then, I'll decide about my DVDs for the day (prime time TV for me doesn't start until 9 p.m. tonight) and then start preparing lunch.

Good Morning!

...Or (continuing my possible To Do List for today from last night) I could just sleep in.

And that's what I did.  -And I have a sense the line for tickets for Dawn Upshaw's free recital this afternoon is already longer than the number of seats in Town Hall.  (Ticket distribution starts in an hour.)  Ah, well.

Now I'm wondering if I'm up for Signor Pollini or Mssr. Thibaudet.  Or maybe just a good walk around the city for a bit.  With a stops at a selected bakery or two. :)

I do hope we hear something from DR / DS Danise today.  I have been so worried all weekend.  I have been so moved by the various posts that have been written to her in the last few days.  We really are a very tightknit family.

Hmm....

I just stepped out for a bit to pick up a copy of the Sunday Times, and it's actually kind of chilly out there.  A very cloudy and gray.   Like it's going to rain.  Hmm...  I could have sworn when I checked the weather forecast before heading to bed, it said "partly sunny and highs near 90".   Hmm...
