Well, you've read the notes, the notes had Swiss movement, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're just cutting some slack right now and will be bringing the slack with them when they come home.

Canada Unveils Whopping 220-Pound Coin
Reuters

(May 4) - The Royal Canadian Mint unveiled a welcome addition to any piggy bank on Thursday -- a monster gold coin with a face value of $1 million in Canadian dollars, or about $900,000 in U.S. dollars -- that it says is the world's biggest, purest and highest denomination coin.

At 21 inches in diameter and over 1.2 inches thick, the massive coins need a high level of hand crafting.

While it has about a $900,000 face value, the coin is worth more than twice that amount given the current gold price of $616 an ounce.

Good morning, Jack.

I picked up a second Playbill from Journey's End. I will try to mail it out this weekend or on Monday.

It was a dark and somber evening in the theatre last night but well worth it. The final moments and the "curtain call", as others have said, is amazingly moving. The entire cast is excellent. Boyd Gaines, who played George in the revival of She Loves Me, is so good as the "older" officer.

Oh, my, the waste of war!

I'm listening to Internet radio right now and I'm about to leave to be so obvious I will barely mention it.

Friday and a work day for me as well.

TOD:

DVD - Dreamgirls
CD - The Long Long Trailer/Forever Darling
VHS - Streamers

DR MATTH - I know that the widescreen will give me the whole picture of DREAMGIRLS.  I just don't know if I want to see it again.  I liked it and will watch for a used copy later this summer.  I was very disappointed in the performance of Nanny Noo Noo as Lorrell....she gave a terrible eye-popping and teeth-baring performance with some really bad line readings.  I was thinking of the three gals, she would be the best actress, but something went wrong.

If you have the ON DEMAND feature, MR BK - you should be able to watch both parts of the BRANDO documentary.  I know that in all of its promos on TCM, it was hawked as a two-parter.

For some reason last night all of my non HD stations were VERY fuzzy while my HD stations were fine.  :(

Worked up quite a sweat before work this morning helping my mother get her huge moving/tag sale set up in the front yard.  You can accumulate a lot of stuff when you live in one house for 40+ years!  And the "early birds" started arriving 2 hours ahead.   :P

I also have a copy of DREAMGIRLS, but having already seen it via a screener, I'm not too much in a rush to see it again.  I was overall disappointed with it.  I thought that most of the on-stage musical numbers were wonderfully done and exciting, but the character songs didn't work (dropping the recitative was a big mistake--I think the structure of the work depends on it.)  I like most of the performances--Jennifer Hudson, Eddie Murphy, Anika Noni Rose and, yes, even Bouncy.  But there were times I wish someone in the scenes with Jamie Foxx would have shot him with a taser to get some kind of reaction from him.  He should have been the driving force in this movie but he's barely there, so much of it just lays flat.

Oh, well, there's always HAIRSPRAY to look forward to... ::)

I must return to my Power Point presentation. I'm finished with most of the revisions but I still have about 20 pages to wade through. It's filled with exciting screen shots like this:

I also must fill in my on-line Attendance Report, delivered to us each Friday morning by e-mail. It replaces the thousands of trees cut down every year by the filing of paper attendance reports.

Aren't you glad you don't work in an office?
