DR JRand:  I didn't intend to dis Frances Farmer's performance in "Son of Fury."

Actually, I don't believe I actually rated any of the performances or named any of the cast outside of Power and, possibly, Tierney.

Do forgive me.

Farmer was beautiful and completely believable in her role.  It was a bit thankless, though, as you want Power to return to her until he meets/falls in love with Tierney.  Later, when he does return and you learn that she's more about greed than love, you don't like her anymore.  Just one of those things.

It's not "Come and Get It", that's for sure.

...PS -Speaking of "where are we" on TV shows: Criminal Minds had scenes in D.C  labelled "Union Station" which were clearly shot LA's very distinctive terminal.
If you've seen one Union Station, you've seen 'em all.

Somebody mention THE KILLING OF SISTER GEORGE in the shocking movie topic earlier this week.  Last night I read in the TCM guide that it will be showing next month.  I've never seen this movie (I read the play) and I'm looking forward to it.
What part did you read for?

He looks like Margaret Tyzak in LETTICE AND LOVAGE.
Don't be silly - Margaret's hair was MUCH better.  (Der Brucer and I saw it in previews in London.)

COUSIN BETTE with Tyzak was one of the BEST early Masterpiece Theatre presentations!  If it's now on video, I must have it!!!

I've also just discovered yesterday that THE BELLE OF AMHERST is now (or recently) on DVD.  I must have that as well!!!

I think the two LOST producers said "I don't know" as a means of implying they weren't going to spill any secrets.

These men pitched the show to ABC originally telling them the entire twist the show was based on, so I believe most assuredly that THEY KNOW ALL.

You have to take those kinds of words with a grain of salt when they're trying to recap without revealing future secrets.

I began my afternoon with last night's THE OFFICE. Hilarious from beginning to end, and full of surprises, too. I absolutely loved it. Great closing reveal, and the Jim-Pam story just made me very happy.

It is a quite and dull day here in the office and I just wish it were over so that I could go home to my dog and cat and a Bollywood movie.
