Ah, yes, two parts of my morning wake-up routine.

Buster starts by washing my face thoroughly.  Bonnie follows by standing on my chest, giving me a lick or two, then waiting patiently still stainding on my chest for me to pet her.  If I start to pet Marty, who by this time will be waiting by the side of the bed, she will pull my hand back to her - the princess allows no other to be adored!  Meanwhile, Mikey will have pushed Buster away, smashing his own face on my own.  This leads to Mikey and Buster playing at fighting - much snarling and growling - while I finally get my chance to sit up and start moving.

Fletcher, all this time, will be snoozing closely next to der B.  There is an advantage to being deaf, after all.

Well, aren't you just Typhoid Mary?

I'll bet that was the same weekend Clemson University's Tigers lost the ACC championship, too!

Anyone else here a fan of Stanley Donen's "Movie/Movie"?

It isn't any kind of lost, underrated masterpiece, but it was fun!

TOD: Mondo Teeno, among many others...

I agree with both of these...but I have the Region 2 DVD of Yentl from England.  You'd think that if they can release it anywhere in the world, they'd be able/willing to release it in the US. :-\

Also:

Song of the South
The Boy Friend

And of course Ring of Fire with David Janssen...but that's for a co-worker, not me. :)

As for DVD releases stage productions that have been filmed/broadcast on TV:

Ain't Misbehavin', Pump Boys and Dinettes, Romance/Romance and Pacific Overtures!!

Also, 42nd STREET and THE WILL ROGERS FOLLIES.

I liked MOVIE/MOVIE a lot.  Very funny, specially when the second film would replicate scenes from the first but in an entirely differnt context.

BTW (Bring The Wheat in internet lingo), I mentioned a while back about THE KILLING OF SISTER GEORGE being scheduled for broadcast on TCM next month and forgot to post the date.  It will be shown at 2:15 AM on Thursday, June 28.  It will be preceded at 12:00 AM by THE BOYS IN THE BAND.  In fact, as I write this I'm realizing that the whole evening is part of TCM's Gay Images in Film programming for next month, with gay themed movies running on Monday and Wednesday nights.  I'll list out the whole schedule when I get the chance later tonight.

I had a nice, quiet and basically enjoyable day at work today.

Sorry if anyone else did not.

Time to get dinner prepared.  It'll be some kind of hodge-podge involving ground beef.  I'm not sure what else I'm going to throw in the pan.  It's going to be that kind of night.

Still not a word about the missing contestants or the shot in an hour films.  The message boards over at ON THE LOT are curious as well.

One poster said that America would be very turned off by what happened with the judging of the films and the WAY the final 18 were chosen and so this will not be made public.

Ratings are terrible - the judges got a lot of unfair criticism on the message board....I thought they were being VERY kind!  If they had said what they REALLY thought, there would have been tears, I am sure.

I'm glad to hear the ratings are bad for On The Lot, and Mr. Spielberg has lost many points for being a part of this.  Shame on him.

Interesting comments DR Jrand. I did not read the message boards at their site (only on television withoutpity).

Okay here are my comments on tonight's show.

ELIMINATION SPOILERS ON THE LOT SPOILERS

There were 2 things that kind of bugged me. 1. all the people from foreign countries got eliminated 2. all the people who had big airtime got saved (example jessica and kenny whose films were pretty bad, but who were the major storyline of one of the episodes were saved).

I was happy with the top 3 films. I think zach and lucky penny (will) deserved it. And even though the last guy (forget his name, the guy who did the nerd "get a room" movie) got beat up by the judges (for his "nerd" seeming mentally challenged) i was happy his movie got top 3. I'm sure a lot of it was because he was so sweet. but i actually liked the movie (if he had just made the nerd more nerdy).
