A blond, all distraught, calls her boyfriend on the phone.

"Honey, could you please come over?  I bought this jigsaw puzzle and it's real hard!"

The boyfriend asks, "What kind of puzzle is it?"

The blond answers, "Well, there's a picture of a rooster on the box, but all the pieces are the same color and I can't get any of them to fit together."

The boyfriend says he'll be right over.

When he arrives, the blond leads him to her dining room table.

"Well, what do you think?", she asks.

The boyfriend takes a deep sigh and says, "First, let's put the corn flakes back into the box..."

I don't like that the word "sugar" had to be removed from all those nice cereals.

What musical has a character named General Mills - it's on the tip of my tongue...

There is an article about the Broadway production of Xanadu in this week's issue of New York.

Yes, DTM, how our eating habits have changed....well...my eating habits are still attempting to change...when chocolate appears I have a devil of a time staying away from it!

But I have to admit that my taste for sugar laden items has decreased substantially in the last few years as I have weened myself off....however I am still attracted to many carb loaded foods  :(

...and just when I learned to make Wacky Noodles, too!

And speaking of fish... There's actually a nice video feature on the new-ish "Finding Nemo" show down at Disney's Animal Kingdom over at BroadwayWorld.com.

TOD:

I recall eating Rice Chex and Rice Krispies as a child. My Dad's favorite was Shredded Wheat, which I occasionally ate as well. Today I prefer oatmeal or granola, though I ate some Rice Krispies just last week.

Like Singdaw, I had never heard of Quisp or Quake or that other one until today.

And, like MBarnum, I prefer foods that aren't too sweet. (Perhaps for a different reason.) I feel that sweeteners should ENHANCE the flavor, as opposed to BE the flavor. But that's just my personal preference.

DR Ron Pulliam, here's SS himself on this:

***SPOILERS***[/size]

"It's an open secret that the music for Sweeney...There's constant motion but the harmony is never quite resolved."

Thanks so much for this quote.  I've shared it in a thread on the film at another forum...under appropriate spoiler warnings...and ID'd it as a quote from Mr. Sondheim himself.

My GUESSES:

Girl Crazy
Babes on Broadway
Babes in Arms
Strike Up the Band
Thoroughbreds Don't Cry

I don't know if any of the other two Andy Hardy films she was in -- Andy Hardy Meets the Debutante and Life Begins for Andy Hardy -- will be possibilities in this set or whether WB will ultimately do an Andy Hardy box.  I hope for the latter.

Hmm.. I just checked over at weather.com to see what the current temp is in Central Park, and noticed a Severe Weather Alert posted.  -Hmm, there's no call for a thunderstorm.  Well, it turns out the alert is for tomorrow: "Air Stagnation Alert".  High ozone levels tomorrow during the day.  :-\

However, I guess that means I should probably get out this afternoon.  And I think I shall.

Laters...

And of course there was a documentary on the FREAKIES cereal that came out a few years back which I snapped up...it contains all of the Freakies tv commercials which played on Saturday morning television in between viewings of The Shazam/Isis Hour and HR Puffinstuff, or shows like that.

You can view one of the commercials right here (which is in Black and White for some reason). It is very cute.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1uQIokZizM

You can see that I have never gotten over my obsession with Freakies  ;D

DR MBarnum, I think some of us have known that for years!

We're still on page six?  We were on page five at ten and now it is twelve-thirty.  Tote that barge, LIFT that bale.

I was trying to go through this script - my character is practically on every single page - TOO MUCH TALKING!!!  I should have gotten out while the getting was good.

I have to get a highlighter or something and then it will take me hours to highlight all this TALKING!

And then there is vixmom, who will not respond to e-mails, and who certainly hasn't logged onto this site in days.  She is cruisin' for a Bruce'n, so if anyone is in touch with her, just pass on a bitch-slap and a suggestion that she actually read her e-mail.
