Memorable endings (other than many eady mentioned):

A STAR IS BORN (1954)

THE BIRDS

ALL ABOUT EVE

SUNSET BLVD.

I definately agree about the last three!  I will also add:

DR. STRANGELOVE
THE GRADUATE
FIELD OF DREAMS

So... As for the Tonys...

I wonder which show will post a closing notice first now.  -Besides the ones that are already slated to close in the coming weeks.

With the way the awards were distributed last night - even with the virtual sweep by Spring Awakening - I bet there are a lot of producers watching the lines at the box offices today and tomorrow.

As for shows I am pretty certain I would not want to see:

MARY POPPINS
SPRING AWAKENING
That UTOPIA show (forget the name)
PIRATE QUEEN

Of course I could be wrong about THEM...but what I saw of them last night didn't appeal to me.

Hmm... I think you might actually like Spring Awakening, DR MBarnum.  I don't think you will "love" it, but you would like it.  In any case...

Coast of Utopia was a three-part play epic, and it closed a few months ago.

The Pirate Queen closes this coming weekend, the 17th.  So, you couldn't see those shows ever if you wanted to.  ;)

Does anyone know if Duncan Sheik plays in the orchestra for his show every performance?  Is there a precendent for that?

He just pops in every now and then.  He really just does love the show and the cast and crew and orchestra that much.

I know when Tarzan was in previews, Phil Collins was there for almost every performance - and he still checks in occasionally.  Alas, he doesn't play in the pit due to the logistics and set-up involved, but I'm sure he would if he could.

Oh, and then there's Jason Robert Brown.  Of course, the only person who can really play his piano parts is him.

As I did not watch the telecast, I have to ask if Harris and that lady were introduced as a couple?  Or were they merely presenting together?

The caption was my (obviously failed) attempt at levity - it was already past 3 Am my time).

I am watching Ms Elizabeth Montgomery's television version of DARK VICTORY on the Universal High Definition Channel.

HD does no favors to Ms Montgomery or the second female lead Michelle Lee.

As for the Topic of the Day...

"Once" - The final sequence of images is sweet, heartbreaking and hopeful all at once.  *Has any other DR seen this movie yet?  -I believe DR JMK said he did.

"Cinema Paradiso"

I forgot to mention a happy thing last night - they actually played the opening of I Hope I Get It at the correct tempo - it was about half that tempo when I saw the show - Jose, have they fixed this?  Is it correct now or was the faster tempo just for the Tonys?

This is SO not Rebecca Luker.

Rebecca Luker is a blonde.  Rebecca Luker plays Mrs. Banks.

Mary Poppins is played by Ashley Brown.

Tell that to the LA TIMES/AP
