Look at all these ME posts.  That avatar does get tiresome with only ME posting.

While I am at work, I will try to think of Saint Saens songs.

It may be difficult, what with the competing muzak wafting in the air, but I will try.

Favorite classical pieces:
Milhaud: Le Boeuf sur le Toit, La Création du Monde and that ondes martenot concerto (cousin to the theremin)
Debussy:Ma Mere l'Oye
Satie: Gymnopédies

Songs:
Ne Me Quitte Pas
You Must Believe in Spring (don't remember the French title)
Edition Spéciale
Just about anything by Francis Cabrel, Maxime Le Forestier, Les Negresses Vertes and Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine...I'd have to go through too many CD's to pick out my favorites.

A lesser-known favorite French song is "Le Petit Dejeuner" recorded by Jean Sablon.

And now for your mental delectation, a new The Creature Wasn't Nice review.  If you haven't gotten the CD yet, I have copies and can sell them to you - just drop me an e-mail.

http://www.cinemusic.net/2007/06/11/the-creature-wasnt-nice/

I loved the comment that the creature's singing voice was done my one of the muppets. If he only knew.

I also wouldn't exactly call the songs "lounge songs" which is what the reviewer did.

Le Ciel Est Bleu

Also I had an album of songs by Roger Whittaker that were French versions of his popular English songs. Of those the French version of Durham Town was almost an a totally different songs called Mon Pays Bleu

Add:

Un Ballad D'Amour

bk, sorry you didn't enjoy Grey Gardens.  I feel the score works quite effectively in the theatre.  The new album is essentially what you own; they only recorded the two or three new songs and swapped them into the previous track list.

Good morning!

Cool morning, warm afternoon, same as the last couple of days, but I continue to enjoy the early morning cooler temperatures. Tomorrow looks to be the same.
