Good morning, all! DR MBarnum in honor of OKLAHOMA! is going through a Mikey-makes-up-his-mind ballet and the footwork is frightening! Central Park or Virgin Megastore? When to move his trunks and hatboxes - and dorothy bag - to Rodzinski's?  Oy! I'm going to throw him off that fire escape!

All I can think of at the moment is the Red Sea parting from THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.

DR Ginny - Yes, the Brooklyn Diner.

155 W. 43rd Street
Between Broadway and 6th Ave.  -It's basically on the corner of Broadway and 43rd. since that's where Broadway "bends".

OK... And on that note, I need to gather my rehearsal score for ACL and some other stuff before heading down to midtown for the day.

Laters...

Does anyone know if Rodzinski ever got word of the 5:30 to 7:30 HHW gathering today?

My connection got glitchy there for a while - thanks for verifying the time and place.  Sounds like it's just down Broadway from our hotel.  See y'all soon!

And on that subject, Tom Nondorf's new LEADING MEN column, featuring pix of Michael Arden Hugh Panaro, Peter Lockyer, Sean McDermott, and an extra picture of BD Wong and (the main leading man as far as I'm concerned) Skip Kennon alongside a brief description of Tom Nondorf's visit to see HERRINGBONE at Williamstown.

There's a pull-quote:

"Updating from last month, I was able to head up to Williamstown, MA, to catch B.D. Wong in Herringbone, which was exactly as weird, wonderful, and "cool" as its star told us it would be."  - Tom Nondorf, Leading Men column, Playbill.com

Is it time for a new avatar of DR Music Guy, one in which we can see his handsome face? (And pink shirt?)

I was going to suggest the same thing, DR Edi, and I hope DR Music Guy will take you up on the suggestion (and the pre-made avatar).

Good morning!

It did not cool off as predicted, and even an early morning shower did nothing but heat things up. Ah well, it IS summer, after all.

Many thanks for all the great snapshots, DR Jose. It is wonderful seeing folks "in the flesh" in these shots that we only see with words on this forum.

Anyone else with pictures to share, pelase keep them coming.

I'll probably finish the remaining three or so ACTION episodes this afternoon, and if there's time, I'll put in the last disc in the MURDER SHE WROTE set. I think there about five episodes left from season five to view.

Tonight, I'll be watching WOMAN IN THE DUNES, the only film in this newTeshigahara Criterion box that I have previously seen (and I saw it so long ago that my memory is foggy indeed).

Also tonight is the HBO premiere of Robert Altman's last film A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION. I didn't see it in the theater nor on DVD, so I'll be recording it on HBO-HD, and I will get to it in a few days. Not sure if I can fit it in this weekend due to an overwhelming stack of DVDs that must be watched and that have priority over the things recorded off TV.

Continued reading in BROADWAY BABYLON last night before turning out the light, and it's a fun, easy read. Most of the background on these theater artists was already known to me having read biographies or autobiographies of the folks he's covered thus far (Merman, Tennessee Williams, William Inge), but the comments on them by their colleagues in the business have sometimes been most illuminating and are what give the book its kick.

There's an upcoming chapter on Tony Perkins that I'm looking forward to. Can't remember what's up next, however.

I too am up. Probably too  late to run over to the Brooklyn Diner, doggone it.

It was great seeing the crowd the other night, meeting MusicGuy and Singdaw, two more great stars in the HHW constellation. I had to bolt early to see one of my favorite singers, Sarah Shannon perform at Joe's Pub. Fantastic. Although ill-attended.

Last night Barnum met up with me at a Turkish restaurant nearby and I was the lone soul to attend the Bollywood film of his choosing. We thought we were going to a comedy and it turned out to be an intense action-adventure musical based that took place in Hong Kong. It was rather mind-blowing, I must admit, and I was surprised to find I enjoyed it. Really good acting.

I won $4 in Powerball yesterday.

At first I read that as $4 million and was thinking, "How nice for you."

My God, am I out of touch today!

Toby and Dylan have suggested that we all play a round or two of the game "Drop That Food" today during the HHW gathering.  We'd prefere that you not heed their begging for this game. :)

Nice photo, Edi. I have only a few photos from productions I was in. I completely concur with JRAND about taking lots of 'em.
