TOD:

I watched THE UNINVITED for the first time the other night and was MOST IMPRESSED with the ghost. It not only sent chills down my spine, they were chills like I've never had before. I can't imagine how it could have been done any better, with or without computer assistance.

MATTH,
Re WOMAN IN THE DUNES:  your experience is the opposite of mine. I, too, saw the film ages ago, but it has stayed most vividly in my mind--both the visuals and the metaphor. That is one film I will never forget!!

Is it time for a new avatar of DR Music Guy, one in which we can see his handsome face? (And pink shirt?)

I love it! It gets my vote -- not to say that his current avatar isn't lovely, but I'd rather see his smiling face (in a pink shirt!) instead of his behind on a piano bench (albeit a most fetching behind..)....

I'm glad to hear bk went to see Teddy -- hope it's a close-cropped do because I did not want to be sitting behind a "Big-Hared"(as they say in Texas) BK at the theatre tonight...

In defence of MUSIC GUY'S old avatar, I thought it was quite clever, quite in keeping with the whole Guy Haines thing. Of course we love to see his handsome, smiling face, but I give him points for cleverness.

Has there ever been a HHW avatar contest?

I don't have time to stay and play -- but will post a Cabaret review later -- or  let bk give one -- news flash!l  The scene police arrested Boo-Key last night -- we'll be posting bail today in time to get him back to the theatre so he can continue his life of crime ....

That little thief was caught stealing every scene!  All bias aside, his DM and DF thought he was fabulous as the Emcee!

Buyer beware regarding first generation items from Apple -- when I have time I'll relate my story about my iPod shuffle... gotta scram!

And on that subject, Tom Nondorf's new LEADING MEN column, featuring pix of Michael Arden Hugh Panaro, Peter Lockyer, Sean McDermott, and an extra picture of BD Wong and (the main leading man as far as I'm concerned) Skip Kennon alongside a brief description of Tom Nondorf's visit to see HERRINGBONE at Williamstown.

Toby and Dylan have suggested that we all play a round or two of the game "Drop That Food" today during the HHW gathering.  We'd prefere that you not heed their begging for this game. :)

Is that game anything like "Drop the Soap?"   ::)

Don't remember if it was mentioned

Film Critic Joe; Siegel passed away yesterday

He received a Tony Award Nomination in 1981 as Best Actor in a musical.

Not really. He received it for co-writing the book for The First.

Homophobic actor Isiah Washington has now brought up the race card over his recent firing from Grey's Anatomy.

He first denied it.

Said it twice.

Tried to blame on TR Knight as being jealous of him

and now the race card

I apologized and showed my remorse for what I said and for the pain I caused anyone. If a black man can't get forgiveness in this country, when so many other people like Robert Downey, Jr. and the governor of California get second and third chances... I think that says a lot about race and this country where we stand.

He also said

He said that the network's decision to send him to rehab after he used the offensive term was an attempt at "reprogramming" him. "There is no rehab for homophobia -- that was just some crap being put out by the network," he told the magazine." I went into an executive counseling program which many people in this industry know about and go to. They knew what the program was but chose to call it what they wanted to fit their agenda."

I think he should know when to shutup. People will forget about (I think) but to keep it going will not look good for him. They won't say it but what network would want him on one of his shows? If he is goign to slam the hand that fed him?

It's dinner theater time. I can see it now Isiah Washinton in
Norman is That You?
