My friend who works at AT & T tells me that once this round of iPhones sell out that they will be backordered for several months.

I was attempting to avoid the "Musicals" in my question. Otherwise we would have Sound of Music, GI Blues, Saturday Night Fever and Grease etc.
Likewise avoiding the Amadeus and 2001 scores.

For the Doctor Who fans - I like the cast of new series but I do hope the series does not become "earth bound" as are the "Runaway Bride" and the first two episodes. "Time travel" is just a cop out for period costume drama.

 Oh....soundtracks from NON-musicals.

I guess I didn't read very well....

OH!!

Hmmmm.....I like Neal Hefti's HARLOW score, which I listen to a LOT....but probably few other people do.

I also like Elmer Bernstein's WALK ON THE WILD SIDE....and I think Mancini sold a lot of PETER GUNN and BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S lp's!

I loved the CD for THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE, but that had a song or two on it.  Does it count?

I also played the CD of A BOY NAMED CHARLIE BROWN a lot, more for the instrumentals than the songs.

Guess I liked Rod McKuen albums when I was a kid, but more for the instrumentals by other people than for the McKuen numbers.

No doubt DR td has the Swedish cast album too. (An allan key would be necessary to release it from its ikea case)

No Swedish!  Korean!  I don't even have a Swedish chef's hat.   :(

One of my pet peeves is drivers who turn or change lanes without using their turn signals.

Also smokers who throw their used cigarette butts out the car window or just toss them on the ground.

Speaking of Swedish...

I don't believe we've had a report of the NYC quest for Swedish Meatballs...

Wasn't that to be the focus of one outing or another?

I don't know if that will now happen, unless DR MBarnum can find someone to accompany him.  Tonight we're a;; meeting at John's Pizza around 5:15.

My plans have changed and I will not go to Toyland this morning. Now that DR MBarnum is out of the apartment, I'm fumigating - I mean, I'm doing the laundry and other small household chores before I begin messing up the place again.

Yes, sadly, today's 2:00pm matinee ends the run.   :'(
I'll traipse by the stage door immediately after work to say some fond farewells.  (Maybe there'll be some Persian goodbyes going around).

DR Elmore, please prepare the song "Laura" for Kevin Spirtis and tell him that it is one of the songs he is supposed to sing at his next cabaret show.  ;)

So, if anyone does happen to touch base with DR vixmom today - Is she still planning on coming in this afternoon? - could you inform her of the meeting at John's Pizza at 5:15.

Also, I'm done at 2:00 and was just planning on hanging out around midtown, so if she - or any other DR would like to venture out somewhere for a cookie, cupcake, caramel corn, etc. - just give me a call on my cell.

Oh - One of my biggest pet peeves... People who stand to the left on escalators when they should be standing to the right so that others can pass them.

More to come later, I'm sure.

OH!...

Here's a bit of Shakespeare ;) to help start off your day:

The Hokey Pokey, by William Shakespeare:

O proud left foot, that ventures quick within
Then soon upon a backward journey lithe.
Anon, once more the gesture, then begin:
Command sinistral pedestal to writhe.
Commence thou then the fervid Hokey-Poke,
A mad gyration, hips in wanton swirl.
To spin! A wilde release from Heavens yoke.
Blessed dervish! Surely canst go, girl.
The Hoke, the poke - banish now thy doubt
Verily, I say, 'tis what it's all about.

:)

*That's from a Washington Post Style Section Contest from a few years ago where you had to "describe" a certain activity in a Shakespearean manner.  That was the winning entry.

I bought the Crosby/Young 45 rpm when I was a kid. (Around the World).
I learned to sing this when I was 3. It used to crack my mother up to hear a tiny girl sing the word "rendezvous".

Good morning!

It's a tiny bit cooler here this morning and only supposed to get to the high 80s today which will be cooler than the last week.
