Back from rehearsal and greeted with a problematic and potentially catastrophic e-mail regarding the fundraiser. I'd met with the president of the college, he agreed to fund it, found a simple way of doing so (through some fund with a ton of money), and guaranteed it would happen quickly. I've been all over him to get this done and the money into my account - to that end, I actually had invoiced them this morning (the person who he put me in touch with) - but he hasn't answered an e-mail from me in days, and when I arrived home I had an e-mail from the head of the theater department, forwarding me this guy's resignation letter - he's out of there as of 6/30. I'm not sure if that's a mistake that should read 7/31 or what, but it's put everything I've done in jeopardy. If I have to go out and try to find this funding a different way I'm doubtful it can happen and therefore my first act as president of this organization will be a catastrophe. I'll speak to the woman to whom I sent the invoice first thing in the morning, but who knows what will be. I will also press the head of the Foundation to help me if we need help, because I don't want this to fall apart. The Foundation is already helping the Brain in a small way, but the event is not cheap in terms of its budget. I'm really petrified now, and so all excellent vibes and xylophones would be greatly appreciated.
