Tom: What a lovely zebra! I've seen many zoos that have their zebras and giraffes co-habitating. Clearly, they're not good Christian zoos. Still, I've also heard of zebras and Thompson gazelles living in the same enclosures, which is far less exciting from a visual standpoint.

The zebras at the Bronx Zoo have their own pasture, but they tend to hide under the trees waaaay back in the back of the enclosure so you never get to see them up close. And their stripes make them difficult to photograph from a distance...which reminds me of a Bette Midler song, but I digress...

One afternoon I should remember to go and photograph Jose's friends - the local kangaroos.

The kangaroos tend to graze at dusk - they sleep most of the day.

Oh! I LOVE kangaroos... And what I wouldn't give to have a wallaby for a pet, though I don't think that'd be quite fair to expect a wallaby to live in a New York apartment. And as my friend, Amy, always says, we must...
