I am such a celebrity watcher. I only recognise two names and would only (possibly) know one by sight. Newton is one of my laest favourite singers and sang one of my least favourite songs - "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast"

Don't worry, you wouldn't recognize him anyway.

Oh, they have now added Marie Osmond to the list.

I fully expected UPS to deliver my "Heroes" HD-DVD today since (1), it's supposed to arrive today (2-day delivery) and (2) UPS tracking showed it as "out for delivery" since 1:30 a.m.

But, as it so happens, JINXOID posted:And, of course, there hasn't been a UPS truck anywhere in the area all day.

I stand corrected, Counsellor.

Now he's saying he pled guilty just to make it all go away quickly. While this sounds like a pile of BS, it happens all the time.  But I doubt it in his case

Have you tried spraying it with extra strength Benadryl or using a cortisone ointment?  I had a nasty bite I sprayed the heck out of and now it is much better.  Mine did itch.

Well, after my walk, it does feel better.  Again, it still does not itch.  It's just welty.  I put some Aveeno with Calamine on it earlier in the day, and after my shower, I put some Tea Tree Oil ointment on it.  And I went ahead and took an antihistamine after I got back from my walk.

I'm a bit confused regarding the arrest.  He was arrested for tapping his foot the wrong way?   ;D  There must be more to it than that but I waited too long to read the news.

Not sure if you're joking--but, no, this was about 2 1/2 weeks ago as we were snaking our way back up to Oregon.

I cannot for the life of me figure out where you were with streets blocked off.

The antihistamine should work better than the spray.  If you have any cortisone I would also try that.

I can't remember all of them, but I'm pretty sure the first idiot (the desk clerk at the Jack London) had us go up Main (isn't that just down a couple of blocks from Jack London Square).  We were supposed to go to a gas station on 5th, IIRC, then get on the freeway (according to her) on 12th.  Well, two of the one way streets going towards 5th were blocked off (looked like street resurfacing) and the 3rd and 4th ones we tried didn't go through all of the way because of the freeway.  And once we got up to 12th, there was no freeway entrance there.

Part of the confusion (which DS Betsy gets the blame for, LOL, since she was the map-reader), is the freeway toward SF is actually East, which is counter-intuitive.  So we did actually get to an entrance once, but thought it was wrong due to its direction.

If you were in Oakland heading to SF, wouldn't you want to be going East?

Hmmm... They want a 3BR?  How about a 2 BR with one BR being twice the size of the other one?  Or does each roommate want her own room?

Each wants her own room.

Why don't they take the second choice on their list?  Was the one they wanted the same one you liked?

The one with Ray Winstone and David Warner?
I really like that one, too.  It's bloody as hell.  And damned bloody good.
The production values are  incredible as is the conformity to the time period.  Mrs. Lovett's affliction is heart-breaking.  I hve the dvd around here somewhere.

Yes, that one. You have to get past all the throat-cutting (I don't look), but THEN! I think the BBC outdid themselves on this one. Fabulous production, IMHO.

The last time I checked, SF was west of Oakland.  However, at that particular juncture of I80, or 880 or 580 or whatever the hell 80 it was, you head east for about 1/2 mile before you loop around and get on whatever 80 is westbound over the Bay Bridge.

Ohhhhhhhh, you meant San Francisco, not Sante Fe.

I couldn't make it to Skip's show (which BK is seeing) tonight.  Dear dog Dylan swallowed a bone and I was worried about leaving the dogs alone for the evening since I was worried about what might happen as a result.  Everything has been OK so far, though.

Blanche got a hold of two little brownies this afternoon, so we're similarly concerned for her.  I don't remember this "no chocolate for pets" thing being around when we were little.

That's like going south to Canada from the US, which is what you do to go from Detroit to Windsor.

Not all dogs have problems with chocolate, many do though so it is best to be safe.  I suspect if Blanche were to get sick it would have happened by now.  Did you get a time frame on this?

Nia Peeples

I worked on a short film with her. She is very buff, or cut, or whatever it is that you say about a girl who can kick your ass!

She's now on the soap The Young & The Restless.

The thing that was maddening is that NONE of the entrances said "San Francisco" or "Bay Bridge" or anything that would have been a little helpful.   ;)
