I'm up, I'm up... And I'm almost set to head out of this hotel room... To the auditions... And then back to NYC...

Thanks for all the Travel Vibes.  -However, if I do end up not being able to make it on the 2:25 flight back to NYC, there's one at 4:00... And them my originally booked flight at 6:15, so...  At least there's some decent BBQ in the airport.  ;)

As for the Topic of the Day...

I don't remember names of those early cable providers, but, of course - for my generation at least - the one station I watched and watched was MTV.  -Which, sadly, bears no resemblance today to what it stared off as.  It seems all the videos are now being shown on MTV2.

For those who are interested, PBS is broadcasting an American Masters program this week.  The subject this time around is Tony Bennett.  I believe in the NYC Metro area, this is slated for Wednesday evening.

And I think I was at the 68th St. Playhouse for that first showing, FJL.  I was kind of looking for it while walking - is it still there?

Instead of my throat being scratchy last night, it was suddenly itchy and I was coughing quite a bit.  Once I fell asleep I somehow found a "good" position and, other than waking up a few times, I did not move from that position and managed to get at least seven hours, which, for this trip, is not bad.  I don't feel great, but hopefully will feel better as the day progresses.  Word of the day coming up.

Yesterday I filled the bird feeders for the first time in a month. With 30 minutes the return began!. Soon I had chickadees, tufted titmice, nuthatches, woodpeckers (two kinds), cardinals, blue jays, finches, and grackles.

No squirrels!

Yesterday, DearReaderLaura went for a walk and this is what she saw:

The mine shaft along the remote Cherum Peak Trail in the Cerbat Mountains, where two sisters fell down the 125-foot-deep abandoned shaft while driving their all-terrain vehicle last Saturday, is shown in Chloride, Ariz. Rikki Howard, 13, died in the accident while her sister Casie Hicks, 10, was in the hospital being treated for her injuries.

BK - According to this site, the 68th Street Playhouse site is, alas, now part of a clothing store chain.

Well, I guess after a "Nudie" film, they thought they needed to dress the place up a bit.

We have had Comcast Cable since 1983.

I first discovered a channel called Entertainment or something like that.  Every Saturday it would show Rocky Jones and My Little Margie episodes.  And then on Saturday afternoon there would be a Greek variety show called "Potpourri" which I always watched.
