I noticed that the film CRUISING is being released next week in a new special edition that adds a bunch of deleted scenes back into the movie. I wonder if that will make it any more coherent?

In the theatrical version which I saw, the murder mystery element was a complete and total mess, and the real killer was never really found. Plus the intimation was that Al Pacino had turned into a psychotic killer himself. As I said, a total mess.

I'll be looking forward to reading reviews of this one.

I love the movie, CRUISING.  I bought the movie the day it was released, and I have watched and enjoyed it numerous times over the years.  I am looking forward to buying the DVD special edition, as soon as I can afford it.

Today's "topic" being TV quotes, I'm confused.

Thinking about today's topic reminded me of Horschack on WELCOME BACK, KOTTER saying, "Up your nose with a rubber hose" which made me think about John Travota who at one time was going out with Betty Buckley who appeared in DROOD as well as EIGHT IS ENOUGH which was a show I never really liked but I watched anyway because this girl I kind of liked watched it though it didn't really get me far with her because she had this huge crush on my second cousin who was the lead tenor in our high school concert choir and was a bit of a jerk and because the teacher liked his voice he got to pick some of the songs we had to perform and I remember when he found out that I really disliked "Beautiful City" from GODSPELL he damn well made sure that it became part of our set but then I fixed his wagon one time when I

after walking around my office for about an hour that my
new bookcase had arrived and been set up. Color me clueless.

our office manager, and he asked me if I was happy that we now had a refrigerator.  I missed that, too!  Oy.

That reminds me: Henry Willson's client was named Rush Hishonor, IIRC.

That is so cute ;D

Trilogy of Terror.....that Zuni Warrior sequence was one of the scariest things I have ever seen....the ending was shocking....

Karen Black.....always liked her....NASHVILLE, FIVE EASY PIECES....

And she is still the only cross-eyed woman to land a 747 on her own.

I found THE CAT BURGLAR neither taut nor tense....however, as DR MBARNUM writes, Ms June Kenney was terrific.

She has disappeared off the face of the earth - but those who worked with her said she was very serious about her work....she was a secretary who earned money for acting lessons and did parts on television and in a few B movies...and she was very pretty.

I guess I never knew that about June Kenny.  Of course, I know her because of her films like ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE, featuring the wonderful former-DR Susan Gordon.  No one knows what happened to June Kenny?  How long ago did she disappear?

This would be even stranger here in Rehoboth, where our channel two is the Weather Channel.

Well, if the butler didn't do it, it is usually the weatherman.

The vet called this morning to tell me that Callie passed about 1/3 of what she needs to pass before she can come home.  They have x-rayed and it's all in the lower colon which is where it needs to be right now. So, the poor girl got another enema.  I'll go visit her later this afternoon, but I don't think she'll be home until tomorrow or Saturday at the earliest.   The good news is if she can do this naturally, she won't need surgery. The other good news is that she was very healthy going into this,   so far so good....

Please, after yesterday, do not begin a post with Callie passed.

I noticed that the film CRUISING is being released next week in a new special edition that adds a bunch of deleted scenes back into the movie. I wonder if that will make it any more coherent?

In the theatrical version which I saw, the murder mystery element was a complete and total mess, and the real killer was never really found.

As was the director's intent:

William Friedkin speaks

Quote
I do all these extras, but I’m not sure it’s a good thing.

For example, the murders in Cruising are not solved. There’s more than one killer. I say that right upfront now. I never said that when the film first came out, and so people were confused and angry because the murder that happened at 9 o’clock wasn’t solved at 12 o’clock.

Today, I just reveal the truth: there’s more than one killer. Most of the murders are unsolved, just as the murders that I based this film on were unsolved.

Hello DR Danise.  Is the painting of the Sistine Chapel completed or are you just taking a rest?

Good to see you.

I, for one, am looking forward to the DVD. I had read the book before I saw the movie. I had personally "experienced" most of the venues described in the book (the Meat Rack, The Anvil, the piers, the Ramble, etc. and was curious to see how the film pulled it off. Good or bad, the film is in fact an accurate portrayal of the seemy underside of the queer Manhattan of the times.

Hi folks.

I can only stay for a moment.  The past couple of nights we have had some real thunder boomers and lots of lightning.  It is pouring down rain right now.

I just wanted to extend my deepest condolences to Our Very Dear Reader, Ginny on the passing of her Mother in Law.  Knowing what I'm going through I can feel your pain.

Hi DR TomovOZ!  Yes, it is.  Still have the kitchen and my room to go if I decide to do them.  It really made my arthitis kick up in my hand.  I'm giving it a rest before I do anything else.

One other thing I wanted to ask--I think it's DR Jason who has the machine like mine--Did you have any problems with your Sinuses  (spelling?).  I've been having headaches and earaches since I started using the machine.  I thought it might be the water vapor so I went dry and I'm still having problems.  Don't know if it's this weather or the machine.  I have an appointment with the sleep doctor on Monday and plan on asking him about it.

Actually, John Taravolta did not date Betty Buckley, he dated the first mother on the show, Diana Hyland, who died of cancer.
