I'm waiting for Jane Oliver to record it.

If she is as good as Jane Olivor, it would be worth the wait.

(Someone had to do it).

Is BK ghosting on All That Chat:

I was surprised to see a display ad in yesterday's NY Times (theatre ABC's page) for ROLLER DERBY. I had thought that all NYMF shows had, on account of AEA showcase agreement or other requirement, a rather negligible budget limit that would generally preclude expensive advertising.

I also noted the lovely color/glossy "playbill" that was distributed at this show.

Perhaps presenting it at the Ailey Dance Center liberates the producers from the financial constraints all other NYMF shows must live with.

Just wonderin'...

NEW AUSTRAILIAN ARTFORM
Susie Q performs during Miss Pole Dance Australia held at the Enmore Theatre on September 22, 2007 in Sydney, Australia. Mostly known as originating from the strip club industry, pole dancing has evolved into an artform and is used by many professional dancers, choreographers and is also popular as a fitness training exercise. Last night I attended a delightful performance of our very own PennyO's show "Jewish Thighs on Broadway"...in North Bend, WA!  A couple of weeks ago, she PM'd me and said this:  "I'm doing the "family version" which means most of the really dark stuff - and the 'brief partial nudity' are OUT - replaced by a couple of extra songs."  No partial nudity?  Well, let me tell you that it wasn't needed!  She was wonderful!  And her accompanist was her very first accompanist when she did the show for the very first time seven years ago.  He was very good, as well.

It's basically a fictional account of her life...her ups and downs in the bizness of show.  I got to see her before the show started and chatted with her afterwards.  Here are a couple of pictures.  If you're only used to her avatar with her short hair, it's much longer now:

After the show, she had copies of her book available for purchase and she had posters for signing, too.  One fan brought her some beautiful roses, but she's leaving for California in the morning and didn't really have any place to put them, so she gave them to me (I've got them in water now).  I took a picture of her with them (I love this picture):

Here's a close-up of the big rose...the picture doesn't do it justice!  It really is a beautiful flower!

And finally, after I took the two pictures of Penny, she thought that one of them could be a new avatar, so here they are...we'll see which one she chooses!

Thanks for sharing the photos, DRs George and DakotaCelt.  There must be something wrong with my browser; I can't see any of them - or Sunil Shetty, either, for that matter!  :(

In DR ArnoldMBrockman's case, the SONG OF THE DAY always cleverly tied in to the WORD OF THE DAY.  So, for example, today might be "I Hope I Get It," or something of that ilk.

 ;D

But boy, I'm telling you, my a** is dragging this morning!  I shall be sighing - all the way to the bank, where I shall deposit my large check very shortly.  On the way to church.

NEW YORK BRACES FOR CONTROVERSIAL VISIT OF IRANIAN PRESIDENT MAHMOUD AHMADINEJAD

Quote
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrives in New York Sunday amid a firestorm of controversy surrounding his visit to the United States.

Ahmadinejad, who has called the Holocaust "a myth," encouraged the destruction of Israel and supported terrorists in Iraq, will address the United Nations General Assembly and a Columbia University forum but will not be allowed to tour Ground Zero.

I am not one to be surprised by the expected. At least his assassination (surely at least an attempt) will bump OJ off of the news channels.

A "song of the day" is a "stretch" for me....I almost NEVER hear the song in my head that others are promoting.

As long as we may state as much and name the song 'we" hear, I see no harm....
