DR Singdaw, thanks for asking. I went directly there from work and could hardly pull up to her garage, for all the telecom trucks and retirement community vehicles. The problem was, indeed, that they were having difficulties installing the new phone system in that court. The phones in Apple Ct. had been out since about 2pm
Tuesday, which meant that these elderly folks had no way to be contacted nor to contact the outside world
for about 36 hours. As I was leaving, I was about to give a piece of my mind to the retirement community personnel. But the telecom guy asked Mom to check and there was a dial tone on her phone. I called it from my cell and heard it ring.
The real irony here is that the closed-circuit TV was telling people to call the main building if they suspected their phones weren't working - DUH!
