P.D.Q. Bach wrote a Concerto for Horn and Hardart!

Cafeterias are fun, but if you're exposed to the same one over a long period of time, they can lose some of their magic [i.e., a corporate setting].  Don't get me wrong; I love the convenience and flexibility a cafeteria can offer.

It was an imposter, I tell you!

An imposter.

:)

It was! Imposter SawSing is much taller in person than his tiny little avatar self ... and most charming and handsome .. actually I was at a table surrounded by charming, handsome people ... a delightful evening inspite of or because of that gorgeous full moon -- and it ain't prancing, it ain't frollicking, it ain't walking --hmmm, there is literally not a word to describe the movement Jose does when he gets excited on the streets of New York  -- DRs Cason and Jason can do a pretty good imitation of it though!

Thursday morning greetings!  It's rainy here in SW Ohio today.

DR Ginny - please let us know that your mother was OK.

DR Singdaw, thanks for asking.  I went directly there from work and could hardly pull up to her garage, for all the telecom trucks and retirement community vehicles.  The problem was, indeed, that they were having difficulties installing the new phone system in that court.  The phones in Apple Ct. had been out since about 2pm Tuesday, which meant that these elderly folks had no way to be contacted nor to contact the outside world for about 36 hours.  As I was leaving, I was about to give a piece of my mind to the retirement community personnel.  But the telecom guy asked Mom to check and there was a dial tone on her phone.  I called it from my cell and heard it ring.

The real irony here is that the closed-circuit TV was telling people to call the main building if they suspected their phones weren't working - DUH!

DR td – to answer your Judy questions from yesterday – No, No, and Yes.  I read extensively about the Wainwright concerts at the time, and am looking forward to the release of the recording and/or video.

Oy, gevalt!  have i got a cd for you!   ;)

I'm up, I'm up.  Why?  Oh, well, maybe I'll lay down again.  Apologies to FJL, I think I left him out of the list of people - serves me right for writing the notes so late - I think I got confused because he wasn't with us for dessert, but I'll say he was a major part of the fun at dinner.

And now, Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Children of All Ages, it's time to play that new guessing game sensation that is sweeping the country, and providing countless hours of fun for everyone from coast to coast and border to border...

It's time to play...

NAME THAT STAIN

Is it fish?  If that's bk's arm, I'd guess grease from his fried fish platter from the other day, or mayo from his egg salad/chicken salad/cole slaw/and whatever ga-zillion calorie/fat gram plate he had last night ...

DR Jason has inspired me to try for my next weight loss plateau.

Slow and steady!

But the plan ain't gonna start over the next few days, with The Temptress stalking the streets of NYC!!  :)

Love, love, love the photos from NYC!  My camera and cable are already packed (no clothes yet - I have my priorities, after all).  DH Richard will carry the MacBook, so we'll also be posting from The Big Apple!

I know yesterday was "Ask bk" day, but...

I was wondering what bk or any DRs think about the practice of actors stopping the show and/or breaking character to deal with audience members whose cell phones ring during a performance.  Is this a deterrent to bad audience behavior?  Does it take the audience out of the theatrical moment MORE than the cell phone does?

Since I seem to be spoiling everyone's good time with my TV comments, I'll refrain from posting and that will settle the business once and for al.

I used to hear cell phones go off all the time when they were new; I haven't heard one since everyone has one.

The fish were in an aquarium -- and I took about a hundred trying to photograph through that glass and get one in focus.

The water strider was skating on top of a pond. It was very very very tiny.

DR Matt H., I don't follow most of the television programs, but I don't think anyone is asking you or wanting you not to post about them!
