I figured they did that, but thought canned was a completely separate laugh track.

Can you tell the difference between non-sweetened, sweetened, and canned?

They use canned laugh tracks to sweeten what the studio audience gives them watching live, so the tracks you hear on today's comedy shows are an audio mix.

I think all the shows that have studio laughter are sweetened nowadays. It's not a new phenomenon. Even back in the days of I LOVE LUCY, you can hear some of the same audience sounds (that unmistakable "uh-oh") in numerous episodes throughout the run.

I did enjoy the pics of DRs Laura and Music Guy. Thanks so much for sharing them with us.

I spent most of my evening watching the first disc in the MEDIUM - Season 3 set. I started with that magnificent two hour season premiere - the one that featured the cartoon "Monkeyheads" that Bridget kept seeing. This one also featured Patricia Arquette's real-life husband, the ever-gorgeous Thomas Jane, as her old high school sweetheart, now dead.

A superb season premiere for one of the most imaginative series on TV.

Also on that first disc of MEDIUM was that wonderful episode where Alison kept reliving the same day four times until she figured out exactly what was happening so she could do something about it that wouldn't get those she loved injured or killed.

And the last episode on disc one had another visit from our old spooky friend Dr. Charles Walker, the butcher doctor who killed young girls. I didn't think this episode lived up to previous ones over the last two seasons, but we did get some poignant backstory on him which was vital to understanding his character.

I also watched two deleted scenes and a featurette on how the animation was done for the season premiere.

I also watched tonight's TORCHWOOD. Another very involving episode. Wonder if the team will be on the "outs" with Jack in subsequent episodes? They certainly didn't seem to hold any grudges against the butler this week after what he put them through last week.

Since I didn't get either THE HOAX or THE INVISIBLE in the mail today (I was expecting both), I'll be spending tomorrow and Monday (since there is no mail) with MEDIUM. I should be able to get through a large batch of episodes with nothing else here that HAS to be seen quickly.

I was very careful to put my cloth napkin on my lap, not to spill anything or break the coffee cup. And then I sit on the cushions in front of all those people....  I really shouldn't be allowed in nice places.

Thanks for the link François.

A friend alerted me to a clip of "Nick Lampe" today.  He had success with the song here in Australia but not in his home country.  Perhaps he is known as a NO hit wonder in the USA.

Didn't they already do a sequel called "Forever Plaid'?

Back from margaritas and Mexican food with Ms Erin Webley of "The Brain" ensemble who leaves on Monday for the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.  I really adore her and it was a lot of fun spending the time with her.  And now to bed.

Jeez (zeej, spelled backwards), we've had about five posts in the last three hours.  How dreary.
