When she has it in her hands, then I'll feel comfortable that we have it.

How about when the funds clear?   ;)

Feel better vibers for DR GINNY and DR JEANNE.

No mail......no mail......

I am not sure what an upconvert DVD player is, DR MBARNUM.  I just used a 3 part cable from my Panasonic DVD player to my TV.....and the sound was already into my suround system.

My guess is that your Toshiba has nice sound and you will be fine using it as your audio receiver.

BUT don't get the cables at Best Buy....as DR MATTH says, you can get the same thing for much less at Target or Walmart.  I found mine even at Goodwill for $1.99.....but that was a fluke.  Yes that was a fluke.

Slow day so far a the World of Wisdom.  We are buying some nice tumbled stones, and I have sold some incense, and taken and interpreted TWO aura photographs.

So, any bets on whether Roller Derby is going to win the Verizon text message NYMF "Best of Fest" award?  :)

I think Robin Williams is the comedian who said, "You know why God makes babies so cute? It's so you won't kill them."

That was a propos of the Singdaw "rodents who do nothing but look cute" post...

So I did read Peter's reviews of the shows - Mazel Tov to all!

Noel - Why list which shows are world premieres?  Does being a world premiere make a show any more appropriate to NYMF's mission?

I follow this Chicago area blogger who was enrolled in the marathon yesterday.  When I heard that one runner had died in the heat and humidity, I had to check the blog to find out if it was the person I knew.

He survived, fortunately.

But it was a weird/morbid kind of moment.

Sometimes things happen to me, and my first thought is:  I can't WAIT to post about this on HHW!

I had a nice day at Pismo Beach yesterday... just a quick 2-hour ride up the lovely coast of California, via Hwy 101... under a beautiful blue sky.

DR JRand, an upconvert DVD player evidently makes your regular DVDs look as close to HD quality as is possible...anyway, it improves the picture quality. I may hunt around for one. We shall see.

I am now off to Comcast to get me a new cord for the DVR.

And so, to Google land (google is, i believe, over $600 today!) for my self-imposed tutorials on how to harness and harmonize a non-profit board in service to their stated mission, while appearing to be the respectful employee...

Now remind me what your hooked up with an HDMI cable on your system? Was it from the DVD player? Or am I just confused.

I know I need one for the Comcast DVR box, which I can get free (I guess) from Comcast. Or are you talking about the 3 pronged plug in...maybe that is what it was. I am getting my cables crossed.

I am just jiggy with my regular, plain old TV.

And I am now thinking that I shall just bury my head in the sand and not contemplate HDTV for a very, very long time.  :)

Well, the Times just said it was supposed to happen yesterday.  It doesn't report on whether or not he went through with it.

Since yesterday was "The Blessing of the Animals" at the Episcopal church where my dear husband plays, his postlude was a movement from Camille Saint Saëns's Carnival of the Animals.

Zach attended the service, but had to be removed half way through the sermon for TMB.  [Too Much Barking].
