Oh, and stay away from sugar. Sugar is very acidic and amplifies pain problems.

If I eat too much sugar--and it doesn't take much with me--I then use the lemon juice trick to "undo" it. It does help.

Heading down now to watch DEXTER and then start on lunch preparation. (What a show to watch right before eating lunch! Sheesh!)

Does anyone know if THE CROWD will be released in the US on DVD? All I can find is a Chinese copy, but it is supposed to play in NTSC...

Is it in the toe or heel area, FJL?

If he's dancing, it would have to be heel - toe.  ;D

Off to do some chores.

It looks as if Mr Drew Carey will be okay on THE PRICE IS RIGHT, but he is a bit uncomfortable right now....

TOD:

I don't know from "fresh and/or influential" but my favorite silent films are THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (1925) and MYSTERIOUS ISLAND (1929) which was actually partly a sound film as they added in a couple of sound scenes at the last minute.

DR Cillaliz who did you like on last night's DANCING WITH THE STARS?

I really liked helio and julianne as always. But i really liked the choreography for cameron/edyta and jennie garth and partner.

I am really big into the choreography. I find that good choreography really makes a big difference for me.

I also thought sabrina was very good.

I thought they gave marie way too high marks. Same with jane seymour (although i think she is better).  I think mark cuban is the worst. I'm expecting him and floyd to go before any of the women.

I still don't get why they are giving some people really high marks for dancing so slow. Sabrina seems almost like a professional. But she gets almost the same marks as people like marie or jane who don't have any type of speed.

I will be very curious to see which woman will go first.  I would probably choose marie or mel (not that fond of her for some reason).

I saw a few minutes of Drew Carey on the Price is Right yesterday. And i hated it.  Maybe it's just being so used to Bob Barker.

I think i sort of liked SAMANTHA WHO. I found Christina Applegate to be so appealing. She just had such star quality and made the show so funny. I also like barry watson.

Jennifer esposito's character was not too likeable. And i cannot figure out what to make of Sookie from GILMORE GIRLS.

But the show seemed fun.

The one thing thought to me is that in some ways it did not seem like a 1/2 hour comedy. But more like a drama that was funny.

JRand, the photos of you and Molly is very sweet & has an old fashioned feel with the black and white.  Will there be more photos coming, such as the bride in her dress?

DerBrucer I’ll be curious what you think of Samantha Who.  Keith complained until I finally turned it off, not that I really minded so much.  I was curious to see where it was going.

Tonight, due to the baseball playoffs, neither BONES nor HOUSE is being shown, but I'm going to watch an episode of NCIS in high def to see how it compares to those miserable-looking 480p transfers I endured over the weekend. Maybe the series is supposed to look that soft and grainy. I'll find out tonight.

The last two episodes of HOUSE were excellent, new & refreshing..... and just in time as we were considering dropping the show from our line-up.

Whew!  Scott and his brother Rob have been here and gotten the furnace going.  Now it's getting a little warm in here...

:)  I so hate when the heat goes out in the winter.  At least this happened before it got too cold.

I also watched most of Samantha Who? last night, until DH Richard called from Wisconsin right at the end.  Jean Smart is one of my favorite TV actresses and I'll keep watching to see how the story develops.

Good morning, fellow Dear Readers. I have just returned from my walk to get coffee, and I saw nothing of interest.

It was very cold in our house on Saturday morning, but is warmer this week.  At least we had an early warning and were able to get it fixed before the weather turns cold for the winter.

Yesterday was the first day since May that the AC was turned off and the windows open.

In the desert we have two seasons: summer and not-summer. I love not-summer.

Watermelon juice is also a great alkalinizer. A bit out of season, though.

It, as well as the watermelon, is also great for colds and loosening all the congestion, plus you loose weight while on it. :)

Thanks for all the tips.  When I remember I add lemon to my water.  I'll try to be better about it.

Thank you Edi & Singdaw.  Jesse really is really sweet dog, in spite of his quirks.

I am also a fan of Jean Smart & was delighted to see she was in the show.  If the reviews continue to be favorable I will try another episode down the road.

Good morning, good day, how are you this beautiful day?  I slept a little less than eight hours, only because I got to bed later than I wanted, only because I got hung up writing an eBlast to the LACCTAA members.  Their lack of interest thus far is truly dismaying and I hope that this missive will get them off their complacent buttcheeks.
