Well, you've read the notes, the notes were perky and plucky and now it is time for you to post until the perky and plucky cows come home.

Ahhh....okay.....well we must be kept informed about any romantic developments here at HHW because we share everything.

If you insist...last Tuesday, I came to work and Carole was sitting at the front desk covering for Kathy, who was on break.  Carole motioned for me to come over.  She said, "George, are you still single?"  "Yes," I said. ::) She went on to tell me that she and her partner Hannah were visiting some friends (another lesbian couple) who were planning on having a baby.  They had a "donor" and I guess they wanted to set this guy up on a date and Hannah thought of me!  ???  Anyway, I said to Carole, "Tell me about him."  Well, she said that he's 38 years old, lives in Vancouver, BC and is an Episcopalian minister!  Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA?  And a minster??  I told her that I'm not spiritual in any way, but she said that that's okay.  Possibly against my better judgement, I gave Carole my phone number and e-mail to give to him, but I haven't heard anything. :-\

That's my one and only romantic development.  Pray for Rosemarie's baby...literally!  My mom's name is Rosemarie. ;)

Oh, and he's German...actually from Germany "German."  And I think Carole said that he's from Bavaria, which is the area where my mom is from!  What a coinkydink!

I slept sort of well, sort of not well last night.  My mind/brain would just not shut down.  I have a feeling an afternoon nap will be in order this afternoon.  I actually woke up at 4:15, stayed up for a few minutes then drifted back off to bed.  Then I woke up again at 6:45, started listening to WQXR - which was playing some rather stormy music this morning - and, now... I'm here...

As for the Topic of the Day...

The first one that comes to my mind is "The Red Balloon".  -But was that really a "silent movie".  -When I was in grade school, we would watch it at least once a year.

Otherwise, the usual Chaplin films, I guess.

On the other end of the spectrum, two more recent films which were almost silent films come back to haunt me right now, "Le Fils (The Son)" and "The Brown Bunny".  UGH!  and Double-UGH!

Tuesday morning greetings!  Today's my day off and I have some appointments lined up.  Our nephew-in-law Scott, who's also our heating & AC guy, is coming at 10 to try to figure out why our furnace wouldn't come on the other day when it was freezing cold in our house.  Then at 1pm, I'm taking my car in for some routine maintenance.  After that, I'll pick up my mom and take her on some errands and out for late lunch/early dinner.  Between times, some puttering here at home.
