FRIDAY FOOD THOUGHTS
« on: October 19, 2007, 12:17:57 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes made you hungry, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're thinking food thoughts, too, as in they ARE food.

Early Friday morning greetings!  A thunderstorm roared through about 1am and rattled the windows, but we didn't lose power.

I'll be E & T all day, attending this conference.  It's being held right down the street from my workplace.

Tonight is the James Ivory Gala. There's a silent auction beforehand, and when he came to dinner he brought scripts for A ROOM WITH A VIEW, HEAT AND DUST, and another...HOWARD'S END, maybe...signed by him and his writer, Ruth. Shall I place bids for anyone? It's a Women In Film fundraiser...

Morning all. As we hobble toward our deadline I must hobble out of the room (not due to injury, just fatigue).

Later, gaters.

Great dinner report, DR EDISAURUS.....any photos taken?

I am still WMC (without my car) - but I am working today so it doesn't make much difference.  Hopefully it will be done today.

I have directed the female version of THE ODD COUPLE.  I have mixed feelings about it, but will not comment further before MR BK has seen the show.

Have fun in London today, DR JOSE!!

Well... Since I just happened to wake up automatically around 6:40, and since I was already sort of hoping and planning to go to the gym this morning, well...  I went.  Just a good half hour on the elliptical and some stretching.  It feels good.  I feel good.  I always seem to pick up my routine around this time of year - even it's been two years since I last got into this routine.  Who knows?  Maybe I'm "prepping" already for the all the holiday eating.  ;)

From last night...

DR singdaw - You're welcome!  -If you can get a hold of some of her other CDs - the Canadian releases - they're quite good too.  I'm hoping she's scheduled to come to NYC sometime sooner than later.

DR edisaurus - Thanks for the dinner report.  It sounds like you all had a lovely and "not so reserved" time!  Ooohh... And Sancerre - one of my favorites - great with salmon.

Well, I need to get myself cleaned up for the day.  Since I have to lug around two scores (the rehearsal book and my keyboard 2 book) with me, I don't think I'll be taking my laptop with me.  Also, it's supposed to rain and storm today, and I always get wary carrying around my computer even while it's under the umbrella.  However, if we finish early at the rehearsal studio, I can log in from there.  Otherwise, I shall return later tonight.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday.

Good morning, all!  Now that the Fed Ex package has arrived, I can actually go into Toyland this morning.  So, first the post office, then the office, and then the NYPL.  Next week I have the main library on 42nd Street to deal with: I need a formal card to enter the main branch special collections, and I've discovered that's where the papers of R H Burnside and Charles Dillingham (director and producer of Victor Herbert's LADY OF THE SLIPPER) reside.  While I'm there, I can also run through the papers of Townsend Walsh again.  Mr Walsh was the business manager for the original BABES IN TOYLAND.

DR edi, thanks for the dinner update! Did you ask Mr Ivory whatever happened to the film of THE PLAYMAKER?

TOD:
  DVD:  Universal Horror Collection
CD:  Guy Haines, David Burnham, Hansel & Gretel, Ernani
  VCR:  These tapes are stale
