Good news, I’m not wearing a cast. The doctor mentioned the main disadvantage of a cast, u can’t take it off to shower. My biggest complaint, u can’t take it off 2 scratch

He then gave me 2 choices, leave on my current splint that immobilized my arm and elbow or go to a smaller, more comfortable splint. The disadvantage of the smaller splint is that it doesn’t immobilize my arm, permitting movement which is more painful. Since he knew I wasn’t pleased with the larger splint and I thought the pain trade-off would be ok, he tested the smaller one, and I did prefer it.
It is worth the pain trade-off, which isn’t really a big difference if I don’t move the wrong way. It actually feels better where the 2nd break, or crack as he called it, is. I have the old splint if I want to use it.
