I have to go to a funeral today for the sister of a good friend. She died unexpectedly Thanksgiving night, after they all had dinner together. I haven't seen my friend in awhile---she broke up with her girlfriend for another woman, so I've been spending time trying to cheer up the ex girlfriend. I haven't seen my friend since they broke up even though she has wanted to get together and have me meet her new love, so it will be awkward but I want to be there anyway, to support her.

Her sister had 3 kids, one of whom we brought in as an intern on the last feature I cut. They have had a tough time; she has had addiction problems for a long time, but this took everyone by surprise.

My condolences, Amy.

I enjoyed the "rotting flesh and jazz hands"! LOL! Looks like a lot of fun and a nice excape from all the seasonal theatre fare!

Thanks!

I've recorded "The Boy With Green Hair" off my DVR cache.  And now I'm doing "You're Only Young Once" (the second Hardy film...and Lewis Stone's first as Mr. Hardy).

I've also eaten a chicken Caesar salad, plus three pieces of fudge.

It's a gloriously crisp, clear day in Oakland CA today.  We are supposed to get rain next week.  It's a good thing BK is getting rain now, for it counters those hot Santa Anas and should help abate any more fires.

Well, I'll hang onto these photocopies - just in case!

Thank you, Ginny!

The Mercer librarian has finally sent me copies. Whew!

Maybe you want to learn how to play "Laura"?

If you had to go and sing outside for an hour and a half to herald the arrival of Santa on a firetruck, you'd be silly too!   :)

Will you be wearing your pilgrim costume?  Or something Christmas-y?

It was very brisk outside when I was doing my errands. Very glad I wore a jacket and could probably have done with a heavier one.

DRs Elmore and Arnold, keep eyes open for packages to arrive early next week. I put your DVD-Rs in the mail around 11:30 a.m. this morning.

And Larry should be getting a Life (DVD-R) sometime next week, too, although it won't go out until tomorrow a.m.

I watched Kathy Griffin's comedy show as I fixed and ate lunch today. Hilarious and also frustrating since I'm sure it was edited for length. She'd only be getting started on a topic, a commercial would interrupt, and she'd switch to another topic when the show resumed. I'm sure she had PLENTY of material to go with the former pre-commercial topic for another five or ten minutes. Oh, well, it was free! Really funny.

What?  You were dressed as an elf or something?  Or are you just being dramatic?

Next, I finished the MURDER SHE WROTE episode I had begun last night. (The one with Arthur Hill, Gordon Thomson, and Michael McKean.) I didn't remember the outcome at all (not sure I ever saw the show all the way through when it ran originally), and I did guess the murderer's identity correctly.

I hope he has to wear reindeer antlers or elf shoes.

Next, I watched another MURDER, SHE WROTE episode, unfortunately, a Jessica-less story with Keith Michell returning as Dennis Stanton, this time in a plot around a phony Mark Twain manuscript. David Birney and Ken Swofford were guest stars.

And now I'm off to do the deed!

Next, I watched (and burned a DVD-R for myself) THE VIRGIN QUEEN. The print the Fox Movie Channel was using looked very rich indeed, and I'm sure when they get around to making an anamorphic DVD of this movie, it will look splendid.

Following that, I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No gay characters today and they weren't featured at all in next week's previews (though that means nothing. I'm sure they'll be on at least once next week).
